Front snow blower

Hey everyone

i have a tractor LX2610 with a LX2963 front blower. I find that it is a bit underpowered. Should i get the LX2980 front blower? Anybody else had this issue ?

Looked it up, there's only 1" difference in width(63 vs 64 ) of auger so I don't how 1" would matter.
info says LX2610 has 19 HP for PTO. To me that isn't much for a 5' +wide blower.

There is no difference in "power" between the blowers. The tractor provides the power.

I have a BX2380 (so not exactly the same as yours) and a BX2830 blower. 48" Heavy Duty.
With 6" of powder I can drive up the driveway in Low, full speed, or HIGH, 1/2 treadle pedal (or so) almost like there is no snow whatsoever in front of me and it'll chuck it pretty dang far.

In today's snow, very very heavy & wet 6-8" deep, what I call "snowman snow", it was 4WD, Lo, partial pedal.

Maybe you have all the power you need, but are driving too fast?

Also, snowblowers really need to be operated pretty much at WOT (as fast as your engine will go)

I have the same setup and in the heavy 14`"snow we just had the blower did great. Granted I had to take it easy on forward speed, jt handled the snow well.

I have the same setup and find it works better in low range at partial pedal(3 MPH). Also in wet heavy snow I spray it down with oil(WD-40, Kroil, or what ever else is on the workbench).

B2601 here with similar engine power and I have the 48" "Commercial" blower....WOT, low 4WD does a nice job, I specifically kept the blower on the conservative side knowing I would be blowing uphill 50% of the time and that we get anything from powder to concrete on out 650' driveway. That being said, it will bog down with a full bite of 12" of wet stuff making the initial middle cut. Other than that, works like a champ........pic is from this morning blowing 8" of wet stuff.........sent it on its way fairly effectively......
