Hi to Vic , really enjoy your videos.we have had lots of heavy snow and ice in Ontario this winter.the FEL has had quite a workout.its amazing what a 26 HSP Kubota can do.
I was surprised though that almost all the bolts on the FEL had worked themselves loose. I heard some rattling and started to check things out. Is this normal ?

Happy new Year to you Vic

Check the threads and make sure they are not damaged, then clean and put back in with locktite or other thread locker. Letting them work loose makes its function compromised AND it will strip out the holes causing a real problem to repair.

Once I cleaned up my new-to-me B2150, I found out the PO(S) had let them vibrate loose and stripped most of the threads, loosing a few in the process. He then ran what remained of them in as best he could, and bugger welded them to the ROPS with what appears to have been an underpowered HF AC buzz box or the like. That was the only saving grace, at least the fool didn't know how to weld, so some of the welds had already broken (pulled one out with fingers, no turning!), and air chisel got lots of more loose, only had to drill/grind a few.

Hi Russ thank you for your reply on this. I was able to retighten so threads should be fine.i had it on my mind to maybe use some version of lock tite. So will follow this up with what you have suggested. I was surprised that they came loose in the first place but again if used things get loose.

Things like this just tend to get loose, particularly with the vibration of the diesel combined with the flex of hydraulic action. Also had a lot of that on my rock buggy. I got tired of that stuff long ago, and I use quite a lot of Loctite. Mostly blue "service grade" that still allows mechanical removal, particularly on the buggy that might break down 20+ miles from black top. But for stuff like that ROPS, I used red "permanent" grade Loctite. If I need it off, easy enough to hit it with some heat, but in general I don't EVER want that getting loose. My FEL bolts are mostly (those I've fooled with) all held with service grade, and the backhoe brackets will mostly go back with blue as well.

Oh, and they've got some new (to me anyway) solid stick thread locker that is often more convenient. I like the liquid to put in a hole where I can, the stick for my tool box to carry and for bolts where you can't get a drop into the hole.

I believe Kubota recommends checking/tightening the loader bolts every 50 hrs. Locktite is a good idea.

Check the two little bolts where your FEL lever mounts also. My lever got sloppy and I discovered one bolt missing and the other loose. I got new bolts and lock-tight'd them in.

Hi when you reference "lever" I assume you mean joystick for controlling FEL movement. Those must be under the floor.
I will check it out thanks.

Sorry, yes I mean the fel joystick. You don't have to remove anything to see them. Just need a 1/4 ratchet with an extension and I think it was a 10mm socket.

I think my tractor may have been missing one bolt because after I fixed it the joystick felt a whole lot more precise.
