From tractor porn to implement porn

My dealer is assembling my MX5800 - which should be ready soon. It is coming with an FEL 1065 and a BH92.

My issue is that there are so many implements possible that it is hard to choose. I'm afraid that I'd have to erect a couple sheds just to store everything if I got them; not to mention that the price would require me to rob a bank.

I need good implements, but I don't need the Cadillac versions since eight acres is what I need to maintain. I also need to maintain a dirt driveway. I have a bunch of stumps to dig up and some brush and saplings to clear out.

I am thinking flail mower and wood chipper and maybe a ratchet rake. My guess is that a clipper tooth for the backhoe might be a great addition. My wife is drooling over having a post & tree puller. (I am concerned that, if she has one, while I am at work; there will be a shortage of trees on the property when I get home.)

Can anyone tell me what sensible selections of those items would be? The choices are driving me crazy!

I'm on my 4th Kubota. I keep getting bigger and better tractors. This time I went with a cab as the winters are killing me. I just had the BH92 put on my L3560 HSTC. I was disappointed in my dealership this time for the first time. After spending so much money on the tractor and now the BH, you think service would have been better. I couldn't get the BH off the tractor because the hose was too short, had to bring it back to have it replaced. Then when I get it back I crawled under the tractor to check things out and found that a couple of bolts were never tightened on the sub-frame. Took care of that and took the BH off and put the 3-pt back on and when I left my barn the tractor was moaning like crazy. Shut it off and checked the hyd. fluid an it was just barely on the dip stick. Put in more than half a gallon. All running good now. As for other implements, I have a Root Grapple I use a lot and a set of forks I couldn't live without. The Root Grapple works great on kind of raking and grabbing brush and logs and moving to a convenient location. Oh, I also have a grader blade with power angle that I use on my 1,000 ft. gravel driveway. Can't live without that!

I am sure that I want a grapple. Carrying limbs and brush gets tougher as I get older.
I may need a box scraper since the grader blade I have, on my small tractor, doesn't seem to move much. Driveway maintenance doesn't happen well with my BX2200.
I have convinced my wife that a flail mower is better than a bush hog, so the issue is "which one?" Interestingly, those of the $2k price range seem to all be "backordered."
I would love to have a chipper, and there is a wide spread in prices from one make to the next. Right now, I am leaning toward the Woodmaxx brand of flail mower and chipper. Any suggestions for other makes?
How about the Post and Tree Pullers? $1k for one of several for $3k for the Intimidator. I don't know that an MX5800 can break any of them, but that price difference is significant.
I think I'd like a ripper tooth for the BH92. Anyone make one for that backhoe?
I thank you who have posted to my questions. This is not easy, and my dealer's suggestions seem to be expensive compared to those I can order for myself.

If they let you burn brush locally, you could probably get by without the chipper unless you're trying to keep it for mulch. Even so, you can buy a lot of wood mulch for the cost of a chipper.

What is a "clipper tooth"?

I meant to say "ripper tooth." So far, there have not been many who offer one for the BH92 backhoe. Michigan Iron may make one, but the price for there's is about the same as buying another bucket.

Is it fair to say that a York Rake is a landscape rake with wheels on the back?

If I burn my limbs, It will take a very long time. I am allowed to have a burn pile no larger than 8' across.

I have not used wood mulch for anything yet, but the chips are easier to collect and burn or else go dump. Of course, I'd surely give the chips to someone who wanted them.

I know that I want a grapple, but I also plan to get a set of forks. I am interested in seeing how well my grader blade works behind a larger tractor.
I certainly hope I don't have the same issues with the backhoe installation. That would be irritating.

I read Bro-tek will make a ripper if you send them the dimensions. I thought I read someone had one from Bro-tek for the BH92. Eventually I'll buy one from them. I'm sure they'll eventually have it listed on their website, maybe just waiting for the demand. I don't know why they wouldn't make one, they make one for pretty much every other Kubota backhoe, plus they have the thumb for the BH92.

I have a MX5200 with the same FEL & BH as you. I had the hydraulic thumb put on & boy I'm glad I did. Easily doubles the uses for the BH. BH w thumb is my favorite implement, my pallet forks are used all the time.

I'm sure they'll eventually have it listed on their website, maybe just waiting for the demand. I believe Bro-tek answered my question regarding a ripper for the BH92 telling me that they do not yet make one for it. I had been hopping the one for the BH77 would work,and they said it would not.

For some reason, the folks down here in my area aren't selling many implements on Craig's List. I would certainly take advantage of it if they were.
