Forward/Reverse Pedals not self-centering.

Hi Guys... I have a B7800 with 1200 hours on it... she runs great and seems to operate very well, but I did notice that the forward/reward pedals do NOT return to a neutral position, or "self-center". She'll creep in either direction which I find annoying and possibly dangerous. Should this pedal return to neutral when I remove my foot, or is this creeping normal? Thanks in advance for your help! it should return to center. Check to see if there is a grease fitting on the treadle (above or below deck). If not, shoot the whole mechanism with WD-40 or similar. Is it frozen up with ice or just so cold that things are sticking?

If that doesn't do the trick, you may need some adjustment or replace return spring?

The pedal mechanism probably has a ball bearing roller running on a V-shaped ramp as well as a damper and associated linkage. Wear and/or debris in the mechanism can cause such symptoms. A thorough visual inspection is the first step.

Yes I have been meaning to post that same question about my new to me 2710 creeps forward and dosnt return to neutral. But it's been to cold and frankly I've been to busy this week to look at it. But that's my intention this weekend cause my wife wont like that if she helps do some snow blowing this winter.

As others have indicated, the directional pedal should return to center when you lift your foot off of it.

But my B2910 (I bought it new) with over 1800 hours acts the same as you describe. I just tap it to center with a slight touch of my boot. AND I am guilty of lubricating everything else, EXCEPT that pedal linkage.

Try ample lubrication first and see what happens. Your tractor and mine are the same, except for a few deluxe features.

I had this issue when my tractor was new and it made loader work a nightmare. The dealer tried lubing the pedal which didn't fix it (they told me it just needed time for the grease to work in). I wound up crawling underneath and looking around. There is a pedal return spring on a tensioning bolt by the pedal linkage near the right rear tire.

I tensioned my spring by an additional 1/2 inch of stretch and it fixed the centering issue. Note: the spring was a bit of a PITA to get to.
