Yeah, I couldn't remember what came outta Wayne. I knew it wasn't their money makers. Although, I do see a lot of the Bronco around here.broncos and rangers on hold for now
No, I don't think you are overreacting. I don't want an "always connected" car.Could this be true??
So i splurged and bought a new Ford F150. I have had great reliability with them over last few decades. Has exceeded my expectations. Comes with the FordPass app. that remotes starts, locks/unlocks doors, tells you where the truck is if stolen, amount of fuel, etc.... over the internet from where ever you are in the world.
So registering the vin in the app. it needs not only my e-mail address but also the e-mail system PASSWORD.
If I give them the password they could fwd copies of all e-mails other places, control all the admin functions of my e-mails, read all e-mails including details from say my doctor, accountant, lawyer, banks, etc.... couldn't they?
Is this not an over reach them asking for admin control including ability to read / forward / save all e-mails?
I would get $200 in "ford points" for doing this but my gut tells me know way / no how is giving up access to my messages re: my legal, medical, financial situation.
Am I over reacting?
It's possible that the salesman was trying to get into your email account so that he could retrieve a confirmation email (or a verification number) that was sent (on your behalf by him) to confirm your email account within the program...thanks.... it was the salesperson who tried making the install for me and told me the password thing...
Have a 2016 Colorado 4WD CC/LB diesel 133k only issues I have had was 2 DPF sensors(warranty), rear brakes, 12 tires, and serp. belt. Get 30 MPG in the summer. So their shitty models.
