sticker GVWR is 2000, trailer weighs 530, LEGAL 'payload' would be 2000-530 = 1470#
GAWR is just what the axle can carry NOT what you're allowed 'down the road'.
One 'cheat' the travel trailer guys have done for decades, is increased their GVWR by including the tongue amount. If they use an A-coupler rated for 700#, that is ADDED into the total 'GVWR' value. Typical full size pickup bumper ball is rated for 350#,frame hitch , 500#.
If you use a 3500# rated axle and 500 for the tongue, you get a legal 4000 GVWR. The problem lies in weight distribution though as you need 10-15% weight on the tongue. It's a 'numbers game'.
I'd still like to see the factory where those trailer are 'made in USA', the steel bending shops, the welding shops, the bigA powdercoat line, etc.
I had a snowbird friend and finally convinced him to buy one of those HF folding trailers. gave him something to do ASSEMBLING it, then hauled it full of 'yard sale finds'. He took his CDN trailer plate down, customs didn't say 'boo' to the stuff. Easy, one way haul, gave trailers to his children, 3-4 times he did this,
hmm, just what GOOD are those fenders on that trailer ? seems to me they will NOT deflect water ,let alone gravel from being tossed into whoever is following behind ???
