I just bought kubota 3301. Does this have float capability?If so how do you use it? Dumb question I know.

Most FEL's - push joystick all the way forward, it will "click" and stay in that place.

Hokie, I've been doing that for the last two years on my 3301, and I have no idea what's supposed to happen. Mine just drops to the ground.

When you push the valve all the way forward the loader bucket is suppose to drop to the ground. Then the loader stays there and "floats" until you take it out of that position. The control valve has some detent balls in it to hold the position. You should not have to hold it in that position, and it should stay.

If you're asking what float means, it means the bucket is allowed to follow the contours of the ground with minimal down pressure (bucket can move up and down without you touching the lever)

If you mean floating the FEL then yes push the joystick all the way forward until you hear and feel it click. I never use it for "pushing" or going forward with my FEL only for back dragging. Which I think works pretty well when it's needed.

If you are referring to floating the 3pt hitch then you press the lever all the way down and it should float whatever the implement is that you're using. I "float" my finish mower when mowing my yard and it works out just fine. So if you put the lever in say position #1 or an inch or so up from the bottom it will stay in that position and not "float" with the contour of the ground you are working.

3 point doesn't have a float position. You may have the optional draft control though, would be a lever next to the 3pt. You can get a Top n Tilt kit with a 'floatable' top cylinder though. I'm not sure what help that would be with a disc, they're designed to bite in.

Most if not all (maybe not on the largest models), All Kubota 3 points "float" as there is no down pressure all you do is set the three point lever to the lowest position and waa laa the implement will float.

even the large ones use single acting cylinders. I fact, in 45 years of servicing tractors I have never seen one with down pressure! When you place the lever forward it is effectively in "float" position

I've seen one, it was a industrial Ford. It was looked like a backhoe with 4 post canopy but had 3pt lift like a normal tractor. The down force was useless to me though. It was 2wd so any pressure you put on the implement took away traction.

Three point, Not PTO.
PTO = Power Take Off, that is the spinning shaft out the back.
