If I flip - flop ( right to left side , left to right side ) my front tires, will that hurt anything..?

I'm hoping / planning on getting new front R1's next spring, but for the remaining few months before the snows come, ( tractor is put away for winter ) I was thinking about switching my fronts for a bit of a better bite.
When I was doing some driveway work / FEL work this past spring, even in 4 x4 , the fronts were practically useless. I gotta move some gravel coming up in October, so I'm thinking having an outside lug is better then no lug..... even if it is " backwards " .

Any / all comments appreciated. (y)

Camber is likely “fixed”….but how’s the Toe-In..? That can be adjusted by the tie-rod-ends.

Are you operating on pavement a lot?

And you can always swap the tires on the wheels (move the rt tire to the lt wheel and the lt tire to the right wheel) thereby keeping the proper rotation and get some more years out of ‘em.

I think you'll have less traction in loose materials (mud, snow, loose dirt) if you just reverse the wheels. You might even dig yourself in.

You can dismount the tires from the rim and remount on the other side so they won't be reversed.

Thanks Guys.
Just got the tractor this past April. It won't see any paved roads when i own it, but not sure where the previous owner drove it.
If its not gonna damage the front end, I may flip them.... if i have the time.
But i'm not going thru all the trouble of dis-mounting them, then re-mounting them on the opposite rim.
If i'm going to do that..... I'll just save up for new tires
Hopefully i'll have new tires by next spring / summer.

The outside of the tyre will still be the outside of the tyre, just backwards, if you just swap the wheels. Unless you are planning to mount the wheel inside out. I don't know if this can be done on the front

If you don’ t correct what wore the tires in that pattern then after similar time-frame your new tires will be just like these existing ones….and you’ll have Four badly-worn tires. If you swap the existing tires on the wheels L/R-R/L… you’ll get similar “mileage” out of these existing tires for little or no cost.

The tractor was run down the paved road a lot,BTDT.
I got about 600hrs before I replaced my fronts.
For some reason depending on which door K ships from they're $100 cheaper....

Been looking for a set of 4on4 hubs to make a trailer with the originals.....

The tractor is a 2000, 1750 hrs , the guy i got it from said these are the 2nd set of front tires.
( which is more then what you got out of yours)
He lived on a paved road. and from talking with him during the deal, family lived down the road.
so... i guessing he drove it back and forth.
now.. with me having it out at our hunt camp. this tractor will most likely never be on a paved road , our gravel / stone driveway...yes.. but not blacktop for any real long distance.

Maybe i'll flip em to see if the lugs wear ..... if they do noticeably wear from gravel driveway work, grass cutting and brush hogging, then i will look at what it takes to adjust the camber.

If you'll never be on hard road surface why not adjust the camber to prevent further wear, and just leave them where they are?

I'll have to read up what's involved with adjust the camber.
Can it be adjusted....??... being a straight axle...?

I bought the tractor knowing it needed front tires, if i get a new set, it'll be the last set / only set that i will have to buy.

1. Camber is not adjustable
2. Excessive toe-in is causing your wear, possibly due to worn or bent parts.
3. Check the parts, replace as necessary
4. Read post #11

Demount and remount? Are you kidding? Get same by swapping sides with them.

I put them on backwards on my Ryobi ZT480e. Recently turned them around. They were less "grabby" when backwards. Thinking about turning them back to backwards again.

You haven't said what you use this tractor to do. If now plowing fields all day, there are better tires out there than the R1's. I had R1's on one of my B7510's and replaced them with turf tires - much better for my needs. The new hybrid turf tires seem a better compromise between off-road traction and damage-free passage across the grass. These are important things to keep in mind when considering a tire purchase.

Also, understand that it's almost always cheaper to buy tires mounted on rims as "whole goods" from your Kubota dealer's Sales department than it is buying either a tire or a rim from that same dealer's Parts department. Weird but true. When I purchased my last set a single tire cost more than the tire/rim combination.
