I got a new (used) COVER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

Thursday from WKTP, painted it and installed it today.

I was hoping it would fix the "all or nothing" lowering of the three point.
As it never worked from the get go, I had / have no idea what to expect.

It did help, I can "feather" it and it will go down slow, but what I was hoping for
and correct me if this is not how it works...

I wanted to be able to throw the lever to the down position and it would slowly drop?
I also see no difference in going to the SLOW position and tightening to the LOCK position.

So basically How is this supposed to work???

A least it is able to stay up and stay up for a while, (still drops slowly)
with the mower on it, but the cylinder was a bit scored.

Here is how mine works:
When turned all the way to lock the 3PH will not go down, it will go up though.
From the lock position you may have to turn it several turns to get it to move down fast enough to see it move but it may already be moving slowly down before you see it move.

#1 You need to Hone or replace the cylinder liner and the O-rings or piston seals.
#2 Sounds like either the lowering valve lock is missing a seal or two or somethings broken.
Should have rebuilt the valve before you painted it! ;)

I may try to run a cylinder hone through it, but at $130 for a hunk of steel cylinder, I will live with it
The ring and o-ring were replaced, now it at least does not drop like a rock.

Not sure what the lowering valve lock is but there is only one o-ring in the part I replaced.

Unfortunately, I believe people when they say "ALL PARTS ARE SHOP TESTED". Guess I need to be more cynical.
And I guess you CANNOT BELIEVE THESE PEOPLE, I will pull it out a check it my self.
It is only five bolts.

I have other issues with WKTP that I will not go into here.

Your l1500 is like a L175 right?
Parts look similar.
I'm wondering if you might need to dive in a little further and get into the main valve.

Is the the valve you are referring to #45 CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY?

That looks like an R&R part, other than a screw and two o-rings I see no internal parts available.
Correct?

I will mess with it up top first and rule all that out.
