Fitting a group 31 size battery into a L5740

Has anyone had any experience in fitting a group 31 battery into a L5740
Original design for the L5740 was a group 26 (26R) battery.
Due to their common availability, I have been using group 24 and 34 size auto batteries, but they tend to not last long, most likely due to their construction. I am in the NE, so CCA is important and group 26 is not that robust either. So, in taking measurements of the major vertical bars, there is 13 inches of length, that could accommodate a commercial/ag group 31 battery. There may be some minor retrofitting with battery hold-downs.

Hello. Just wondering if you went ahead with installing a group 31 battery into your Kubota L5740. I have a 2013 L5740HSTC which I purchased new. I am not happy with the original lead acid (4 years) but I got nearly 7 years out of an AGM which was considerably smaller than the original in physical dimensions. Today it is -37 degrees and in the summer it hits the low 90s (Northern Alberta). I plow and blow snow all winter, sometimes at night with all lights on and heater on max. Sure like to step up to a bigger AGM battery but not sure if I can return a group 31 battery if fitment is too much of an issue.
