I've never owned a tractor, so my first was not going to be something not properly taken care of (looks dont mean squat) or rode hard, put away wet! 😉

Or modified and/or upgraded.
My butt cheeks in the seat first, I lick the steering wheel.🤪
I bought my 2006 L48 TLB from an original owner. with only 251 total hours.
"New" (L47 TLB) could hardly have been much better, and the price differential was nearly $20K.

Remind your buddy there are a lot of folks who drive around in 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks that are not making a living with them also! Big boy toys! Makes the office manager feel manly!
Hey! I resemble that remark!

I manage an office and drive a pickup like several co-workers. Makes it easier to haul junk to the office to put in the dumpster so I don’t have to haul my oversized trash items to the dump like a responsible adult. Most agree I have, at least for now, won the award for “Most Unnecessarily Redneck Testosterone Fueled Vehicle” for the day I had to pick up the L from the dealer after they installed the rear remotes but we were busy at work so I picked it up at lunch and came right back. That gave me the trifecta of 4WD pickup, 35 year old equipment trailer, and tractor all at one time. Only took 5 parking spaces. Going to take more than a Ranch Hand bumper to take my crown!

Might be toys. And that’s OK if the tractor and truck are both toys. When you got some acreage it’s a toy about like a lawn mower is a toy for Regular Joe Homeowner in the burbs. But if it’s a toy, I’ll be back to my childhood roots playing in the mud with my toys most of the day when I quit going to that office at the end of the year. And I’m good with that. 🙂

Runs with scissors...since you're saving costs by doing the maintenance, why not go with the "real deal," Kubota Super UDT? That way, you know it's right. Pinching pennies on some of the things can be counterproductive and I am a penny pincher from way back! :) I'm not a mechanic and I don't play one on TV but I surely do enjoy trying to pretend.

Tractor Gal
Hahahaha.......gotcha TG , I was just stirring the pot.

I only use "factory fluids" in my toys.

Truth. At our volunteer fire department meetings, I’m one of two who doesn’t drive a pickup truck. When we moved here, I sold my (fast) car for an F150 screw. Great truck, really helped with the big move. Once we were in the house and settled in, it was rarely used for “pickup truck” stuff. I haven’t missed it since selling it some 15 months ago.

East bound and down, loaded up and truckin'
We gonna do what they say can't be done
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there
I'm east bound, just watch ol' bandit run

That just goes to show how the phrase "different strokes, for different folks" came to be. (y)

I bought my first pick up in 1995 and I have never had a car since. I still have a difficult time comprehending this "no pick up" lifestyle........

I really don't understand how people survive without one....LOL (kinda like my air compressor analogy.....Are there really people that actually live without compressors?)

NOBODY really "lives" without at least one air compressor!
I have FOUR!
Biggest one is Quincy, 5HP, pressure lubed, 2 stage, 20cfm at 175psi, on an 80 gal. vert. tank.
Overkill for sure!

If I ever get another one, and the chances are good, it‘ll be more of a traditional one with a full size bed and without 4 full doors.
