Good morning... This is my first post so im hoping that yall can help me out.

Ive got a sporadic no start issue.

Tractor is a 2016 B2650 with 104Hrs. The oil and filter was just changed at 100 hrs. along with the fuel filter.

yesterday morning I started it no problem and with the grapple was doing some work for about an hour. I turned the tractor off and went for coffee. I came back about 30 minutes later and when I went to start it.. nothing happened. I tried several times yet noting happened still. I popped the hood and checked the usual stuff and it was all good. I got back on it and it started right up.

I finished up what i was doing and parked the tractor. a few hours later the same issue as above.

After about 10 minutes in the seat i tried the key and it started right up.

Question... could I have a sensor going bad or would yall recommend checking something else?

Thanks

With the tractor being that new, the first thing I would check is the seat switch. When it fails to crank, bounce up and down on the seat and see if that helps or better yet, have someone hold the switch button down while you try cranking.

My L3200 did that with only a few hours on it. The neutral switch on the hydro pedal needed a slight adjustment.

Sorry its taken 3+ weeks to reply... Life got away from me.

I checked the seat switch and fount the grey connector wire was over the seat switch. I looked at is from the back to see if it was supposed to be like that and the seat tab didnt even touch it. I routed that gray wire under it and now it makes contact with the tab. Sadly it was not the issue.

I read on another post where someone suggested that the PTO might be engaged. I looked and the lever with the Yellow top (PTO)and the gear was pulled forward. this rendered the tractor dead.... yet pulling it to the rear and it starts up and operated fine. Thanks for the reply though.

Looking at the B2650 WSM, I see 5 safety switches that could prevent starting. Identified as #11 to #15 inclusive.

To rule out any starter circuit related issues it would be worthwhile for you to learn how to jump the starter.

Remember, you are defeating all safety features and can get run over or even have a run-a-way tractor, so best to have someone in the seat and exercise extreme caution.

The starter solenoid has two large terminals on it. One has the + battery cable connected to it.

On the solenoid there will be a small terminal.

You need to jump between the large and the small terminal. The starter should engage and start cranking immediately. You can use a piece or wire, a screwdriver. Expect a little sparking as you make the initial connection.

If it does that when the key switch wont crank the engine, you know know the problem lies in the OPC, its numerous safety switches, the key switch or perhaps a relay.
