Just got my first orange machine a L2050DT. Not sure of the year.

I was hoping someone could either take a few pictures or answer a few simple questions. Seems a previous owner did a little wiring after burning up a ground wire, so was hoping someone could check thier tractor and let me know if the negative terminal connects anywhere other than the frame ground. Right now mine is grounded to the frame but also also has a jumper wire wire nutted to what looks to be the common negative wire in the wiring harness. Just not sure the jumper is needed as it starts and runs with or without it.

Second question there are 3 wires coming from the plug in the back of the alternator 2 are white with black stripes and the other well it looks burnt off. I think the burnt one is a dummy wire and maybe some tired to hook it up previously but I am not sure and I can't find any wiring diagrams to be sure. If someone could let me know and if it is hooked up and if it is then let me know where to.

thanks
Rich

Thanks Wolfman yeah I found those before posting here but I was really hoping to save a few buck by just having a fellow owner take a quick look at thiers and let me know.

Welcome to the OTT forum. Congrats on getting a great tractor. :)

The year of your tractor will be the year when the original owner got it.

Hey thanks for the welcome Mickey. Yeah not too worried about the year since they only made for like 2 or 3 years anyway. Hoping it will be a good little workhorse for me once a get a few bugs worked out. Looking forward to start using it this spring.

I can't say I've ever ran into anyone on here that has a L2050, not a common model, but check back maybe someone has one.

I have a L3450, which is one generation newer and I know electrical changed a little between the generations so the manuals I have won't help.

If you post some pictures of what you have then some of us might be able to help steer you in the right directions.

Thanks D2 those pics almost show what I needed. Did you end up getting rid of it? Wish I had that front grille looks way better than mine at the moment.

Thornious, I no longer have that tractor. I'll look and see if I have any literature with wiring schematics. Are you needing just the wiring at the alternator?

Yep for the alternator just need to know if the 3rd wire is hoked up if so to what, if possible to tell. Also if the negative on the battery is hooked to anything other than frame ground. Thanks again R
