hey guys... they dropped it off this morning & i spent a little time with the service guy who delivered it getting some extra pointers on whats different vs my B7200hst.

& then jumped on & headed off to the barn to put the hog on & go put about 3hrs of run time on it.

first thoughts:

it has plenty of power where i thought the 7200 was underpowered.

it climbed good while hogging

it sits up a little higher

its much more comfortable (seat, tilt wheel)

its not as wide as the 7200 at the tires.

love the new mounting system for the rear. the anti sway tracks are nice.

the titan hog fits it perfectly.

INSTANTLY liked the brakes on the left side.

FEL was pretty easy to get the hang of.. but no float mode that i could find.

the F/R pedal is VERY stiff compared to my old girl.

YES its already all dirty & has a scratch now.

& yes my daughter has already named it.

since she's taking Japanese & is into all things Japan land..

its name will be Fukumi...... Fukumi Kubota

& im gonna call her Fuku for short. LMAO

if you aint careful your gonna say something else with that ..

As long as people don't interpret that name as "Fuk U" lol (Am I allowed to say that?). Maybe stick to the long name version...
Nice machine, hope you enjoy it...

I think you'll be pleased to find the FEL float position is all the way forward. It is a pretty stiff detent on mine.

Unless you can't have a float function on Canada-sold machines? ;)

what ive found out is that when i was a kid & they worked me from daylight to dark everyday of the week... i hated it & swore that id never have a farm or live on a place that needed a tractor again.

:D:D:D:D

now that im getting older & its just PLAYING instead of actual "have to" work?

YES its very relaxing & good exercise..

seems the key is doing it when we WANT TO vs have to.

shes already got the evening planned out to do more.. so will try the float thing out again.

thanks for the tips, will report back!

UPDATE: YES that float trick worked! thank you very much!

am i good at it yet? NO. but it does work & i did spread some gravel around & level up some low spots with it.

did a little more bush hoggin & scraped some ground up & even prepped up for my shoot box out back.

all good stuff!

The pedal, and the float detent, will both become smoother with usage. It takes a pretty good push, and a loud click, to get into float when it's new.
Good Luck,

Jerry

more great input & thank you guys for this!

noticed right away that it was higher off the ground...

well last nite i REALLY noticed it. got it on that same hill the 7200 got stuck on.

man oh man does that seem a LOT steeper when your higher up off the ground.

& this tractor wouldnt climb it either... maybe it was still a bit too soft.. maybe its just meant to be a "down only" hill.

either way ive got another pathway carved to get out so its not a real problem.

got bush hog wide hiking trails now cut around the perimeter & going back to ad cross overs & areas of clean outs will be where we go now.

im going at this pretty hard as i want to get it all carved out before tick, flea, mosquito, yellow jacket season gets into full affect.

I am the same away about horses. I was raised getting up at 4:30 and taking care of them every day. My wife and kids both had hinted about wanting one in the past but that ain't happening.

I have a B 2301 and it has a float and it is Canadian -I know that because before it starts it says - Eh-Eh-Eh then fires.

Congrats and enjoy your new ride.

Congrats on the new machine. I also have a 2601 and have found it perfect for my 9--mostly wooded--acres and 150 foot driveway. As other others have mentioned, you will usually run out of traction long before you run out of HP. Hogging in February! Must be nice. Although the winter here in SE Mich has been very mild--if it weren't for mud I could probably run mine too. I see you got the pin-on bucket. For me, I knew forks and the bucket would be used frequently so the quick-tach was a must have.

your name is PHILLY & your from Michigan?

hey i cant say anything... im a Buckeye! LOL

YES this winter has been super mild & ultra WET.

cutting trails in mosquito, bee, flea & tick season isnt gonna happen with me.. so we will be doing that in the winter every year... even if its cold.

pretty sure that this weekend & next will be the last trails we cut this year.

gonna measure it off & see how long they really are.

like you, im just a small place... (bout 15acres)my driveway is real long & uphill.

cause im in the hilly part of southern OH.

YES i thought the 7200 was a nice toy... but holy crap! this 2601 is comfy!!

still adjusting to the higher ride height & stiff controls, but no complaints at all. :D:D
