I am new owner of a leaf debris blower. It is an older Goosen/Toro unit. The unit is missing the pulley, input shaft and pillow bearings. My question is the input shaft to a yoke for the the pto. is this just connected with a set screw. Any recommend to source parts? Sorry for the possible dumb question.

Thanks

pictures would help but 'generally' speaking a yoke ( or pulley or sprocket) would have a 'key' to mate it to the shaft, the set screw keeps it there, torque (power) is transmitted via the key.

Yeah, the set screw just ‘prevents’ (nice theory lol) the key itself from migrating forward or back in the groove. They can walk themselves all the way out the front or back and fall out, otherwise. Or worse, start bending and shearing metal on the shaft or yoke when there’s not enough key still engaged to transfer the amount of power.

If I need a keyed shafts some times I'll lay down a bead of weld and clean it up till it fits.

Other bearings have a locking collar. I prefer those over plain set screw. Been ordering items from Suplus Center for many years. They usually have a good bearing selection.
