Ever since one of my customers went out of business, a lumber mill/lumber yard, I have trouble finding enough kindling, as I start my stove(s), every day.
I read, like everything, most firestarters are junk.
Does anyone use these for starting stoves?
What brands?
Thanks!

I make my own from cardboard egg cartons, dryer lint or sawdust (prefer dryer lint), and canning wax.

Noodles.
Toss in a handful then some small splinters from splits on top.

I'm right here
Just put in a gas vale on the bottom like they do in some fireplaces.

That way, no kindling is needed as you can throw wood in, start up the gas until the wood is fired up.

It's the lazy man's way to start fires... or the way people do it that have more important things to tend to

Supercedars are available to order online. They come in a shape of a cookie, break off a piece and start up your stove with it. No need to use an entire one.

Me too! Works well and does away for the need for kindling.

Fat wood works well. Can get it at Menards. Once we start our fireplace, it rarely goes out all winter so we don’t need mech kindling wood.

We call it "lighter knot". Same thing. Petrified pine. Stuff goes up like it was soaked in diesel fuel. I have a hefty supply in the form of a pile of old fence posts. Only takes a few splinters to get things going.

A few sheets of paper, some cardboard, an empty milk carton, or some dry bark all work well for me. During the cold season when I burn wood every day, I usually have enough coals left on the bottom of the fire to start up the next day's wood without kindling. I just shove the coals to one side and scoop out the ashes, then spread the coals out and lay the new fire on them.

tons of kindling in the form of small fallen branches around here. Use a couple of 5 gal buckets and switch them out. Noodles and splitter trash are good...

Run mostly 24/7 but have been known to use an occasional squirt of diesel out of an old mustard bottle! :p

Funny...
We call it "Fat Lighter" ... but yep... same thing.

I only use it if I'm outside at the firepit or occasional swedish torch

for the woodstove, I don't use anything fancy.... just ball up a few newspaper sheets and use my patent pending reverse hatchet to make some slender sticks..
