Finally Did Bed Liner On Tractor

Been thinking about doing this for a while. Spray can of Herculiner. I’ll post the before / after and then post my rationale

I don’t have a garage or outbuilding so I park my tractor under a raised deck. That offers some protection but not much. I’m in the Midwest and we get very cold to very hot and humid. So I find under the mat doesn’t dry out well given the tractor sits outside.

I had some rust develop. So I decided to try truck bed liner. Other than potentially getting some of it somewhere it shouldn’t be, like the pedal mechanics, worse case is it doesn’t work well and I put the mat back on.

I researched spray on bed liners and am aware the spray can stuff is not rated very high. However, my thought is it’s mainly just for my feet and shouldn’t take too much abuse.

My wife was nice enough to tape it up. I’m not patient enough. Other than a little bleed through I think it turned out well. We’ll see though, I know it could come off the second my feet touch it.

Trail, that looks super! Very nice prep job, too. Even if your shoes do wear off some on the high spots it should just take a squirt or two to touch it up again.

You did a great job prepping and finishing that job. It looks great but I do have a question. Have you thought about putting the mat back on? Now that you have protected the deck from rust you should be able to put the mat back on and potentially keep the protection on the deck longer.

Armylifer, Bird Dogger, Mickey D - Thanks for the feedback on the prep work! I know it isn't difficult, but I'd never done it before. Good to know it looked good.

Army Lifer - I had thought about the mat. I think given its the bedliner material, I'm going to give it a go without it. That was my intention. However i thought about what you were saying. If I do put the mat on, water and bugs will still get under there like before. So, I'll see how it goes without.

Great job and your wife is a keeper! I used the brush on version on the inside of the side panels, fuel tank mount, and a few other noise producers on my B7200. Very happy with durability and noise reduction. In future I will coat the bottom of the foot rests and the inside of the fenders on both of my small tractors. After looking at your results probably will coat the top side of the foot rests as well.

i used brush on my floor mainly because the factory mat would not stay attached works well for me

That did come out nice. I may go that route when I wear out my second floor mat, yes I'm on number 2. At 136 bucks a pop, the bed liner is a good alternative. Thanks.

Nicely done. I think I may try the same thing. I have a gallon can of bed liner with some left over from doing my tool box in the back of my truck. Now I have a use for it.

Ive seen guys on the youtoob mix coloring into the bedliner..... Not sure what all is involved but K-orange would be the bees knees.

Nice job! I haven't had the need for such a modification yet (mine's only a few weeks old), but I can personally attest to the durability of Raptor Liner (sold by TCP Global). It's a spray-on liner, and the kit comes with everything you need, including the disposable gun. Can be had in black or tintable (add whatever base color you want). I sprayed the interior of my Jeep when I removed the carpet for good. It's textured, but more "hard" than rubbery. It holds up to abuse really well, but can always be touched-up if needed.
