If you have a lot of fence to install.

I have an old single horse trailer that will be converted into a fence trailer. Gonna weld some floating wheel hubs on the floor with a 5ft tall, 2in drill pipe, that will dispense my net wire.

I burn my thorn trees as well (Locust, Hedge, & Multiflora Rose). I admit to being rather pleased, watching them burn.

Nifty

Except I'm gonna replace most of it with net wire.
Just curious what type of net fencing you are planning on using.
High tension or normal?
Normal cow net with equally spaced horizontal wires or something like hog or goat wire that is progressively closer together towards the bottom?
Any barbed wires (or slick) at the top?
What are you trying to keep in (or out)?

How do you intend to stretch it, have you ever tried to use a belly stretch?

How long are the runs you have to do?

galvanize sheep and goat net wire fence

High tension or normal?
normal
Normal cow net with equally spaced horizontal wires or something like hog or goat wire that is progressively closer together towards the bottom? 4in squared

Any barbed wires (or slick) at the top? Both. slick wire even with top of the net wire, 2in above net that Gaucho barbwire. Total fence height 50in. At bottom of net wire another strand of Gaucho barbwire.

What are you trying to keep in (or out)? Yotes, hogs, dogs

Eventually I plan on getting rid of cows and raise sheep
.

How do you intend to stretch it, have you ever tried to use a belly stretch? I use a come along, chain 2x4's bolted together, net wire sandwich between. See my picture.

How long are the runs you have to do? Posts(wood/pipe) at every 40' and H posts 200' I dont pull more than 120' at a time, you get a tighter fence and if net wire sandwich correctly it will not damage mid runs of 330' roll
^ Read comments above in your quote.

I plan on using drill stem for posts and H posts/corners and Tpost every 10' . Very important to note, the gate posts get a bottle opener till project is done. Here are some pictures of the last net wire fence I built at my previous house. I don't have pictures with the slick or barb wire on.

Thanks for the info on the fencing.

Nice knotting and good idea on running a heavy wire right at top wire to reinforce it. I like to use Gripple splices to stretch the single wires near the middle so it can easily be tightened up in the future. I am old school on post spacing at 8 feet on center

hope you got some good rain but it was too much too fast here.

1/16th inch, rain chances this afternoon increases.

Top slick wire and barb helps keeps the deer legs from beating it up.

8' Closer on posts, stronger fence! And more work.

If you want nearly perfect twists I high recommend you get a twisting tool like the $1.75 flat tool shown here at Kenove

They have some drill driven twisters but I don’t male that many twists to warrant that cost but you may consider that style if you’re going to be doing a lot of twists every 200 feet.

I have quite a few rocks to keep up with so I build rock cages out of 2x4 welded wire 5 foot tall so spent the few dollars to get the hand tool to make the twists faster and easier to do.

And the scorpions have a nice house that is not my house.

As the saying goes, you must be paying the preacher well !! ;)
I doubt that. The yearly avg of rain here is supposed to be 29in. Last few years of drought, that has brought the avg. down 23in.

Last year from Jan 1st to August 22nd only received 6.35in of rain. I was delivering water in totes to my Live Oak trees.

We're off to a good start this year, almost 6in YTD. It was 56* out this morning, just incredible for late April. I'm praying for a cooler summer this year and more rain this year!!

Slow start to the day, the sea fog has rolled in, atleast it brings in moisture and I'm not gonna complain.

Shredding and spraying is on hold.

Gotta do a little blade work for the neighbors.

I've been cleaning out my barn. Had a couple bathroom stools that I decided needed gone. I busted them up and pushed them into some of the ground hog holes!! ;)

Can't imagine they would like digging through that.
