I have a L3010 bought used with 1600 hrs, from the get go the fel would not lift at idle, but if I bring it to around 2000 rpm it seems to work fine. Is this the nature of the beast or is there a blockage or restriction. All filters and fluids had been changed after purchase.

Many of these Kubota's do not work well at idle, (lifting) due to the simple fact that the pump speed (volume) is NOT there yet.

On my bx, (200 hours) I can start it and then immediately lift the bucket, HOWEVER, it is like watching grass grow....it does raise but sllllowwwly, this is a machine turning at 1400-1500 at idle, bump it to 2000 and the bucket comes up muccccch faster, huge difference is hydraulic pump performance from idle to a little above idle.

What is you idle speed?

On another note - many work the machine at the lowest RPM's they can run, rather than run the machine at the "designed" output.

I think and i am sure i am right and wrong.... If you think that running the fel at idle 1500 is better on the engine and pump. I think that it is doing more damage to the tractor in more ways than one. Rev it up to at least 2500 and use it like you stole it after of course you let the fluids warm up some in a couple minutes.

Thanks for the posts fella's, much appreciated....after I posted I though of asking that question about rpm's the only experience I have with diesels is with boats (volvos) which recommend 400 rpm below max rpm which generally worked out to around the 3400-3600. Is this the same with tractors...400 below max???
