Myersville Md is 95 miles from Mount Joy Pa. I ordered a 5" pulley with taper lock bushing for a Woods mower and two blade bolts for an RCK60 deck. Messicks had everything in stock and I was planning on catching up on the nowing today.

Do they really think this package will be delivered on time 👿

You might be surprised. My overall experience with both FedEx and UPS are light years better than USPS which I've completely stopped using for my shipments because they've lost, damaged or stolen so many things I can't count anymore

I will not be surprised. Parts ordered from Messicks get here one of two ways . Both are next day delivery.
  1. USPS truck down Rt 15 to regional sort in Frederick Md, then truck out I70 to my local PO arriving there at 5:30 AM. Regular as clockwork and ame route J would use if driving there.
  2. FedEx air frim Harrisburg PA to Dulles VA airport than back track by truck to regional sort in Hagerstown MD, and final delivery by truck from there.
This package was miss-routed in Harrisburg or Dulles and will be delayed by at least one day, probably more.

I have been shipping with USPS for 20 years, mostly Priority Mail Flat rate, and had exactly one package lost. IMO far more reliable and definitely cheaper than FedEx. UPS is more reliable as well.

I think this is regional. Around here, USPS and UPS are pretty equal, but FedEx is where things go to die quietly in a dark corner. To their credit, they're really creative in the ways they damage packages sometimes. Most recently, they shot this chunk of metal through a new computer monitor. :ROFLMAO:

I have had USPS lose or fail to deliver 16 packages since August of last year.

They are an absolute trainwreck here, run by people who are held to zero accountability for their failure to perform their duties.

Well I am surprised o_O My package just got back here (Hagerstown airport) @ 8.56 AM and was on the truck for final delivery 30 minutes later. Guess I will be mowing this weekend.

I've had FedEx deliver numerous packages to my neighbor's house instead of mine. My address # is 248, his is 246. I have signs on both sides of my driveway with my address #. One time my neighbor was outside when FedEx showed with a package for me. My neighbor informed him that they continuously deliver to the wrong house. He told the driver that his address is 246.
The driver responded with "No this is 248"

It is the individual people working in those companies that are creating those problems. Therfore you cannot say "company abc is better than xyz". You can argue of course that the bad employees should be weeded out over time.

UPS in Dublin and Cork for example were great whereas Shannon messed things up on a regular basis. People within UPS knew about it but were not able to change things for a while. I do not know the reason.

Well now I am not just surprised - I am flabbergasted. The package was delivered by a young lady in a private vehicle 45 minutes after getting back to Hagerstown!!!

Is using a regional package delivery company an option from Messicks?

For example, in the upper midwest, we have Spee-Dee Delivery and their rates beat the big three and they're quick.

They blindly follow the GPS. My own street, the houses and numbers are not in sequence. When I first moved here, the GPS id'd my place as one 1/2 mile away.Fortunately, the driver do read the house numbers.
All the delivery services occasionally screw up. I've gotten used to it and instead, am amazed when on time or early.

It’s the sorry ass current workers who don’t give a dam about their jobs but want the paycheck without doing the work! Welcome to our current society that will gladly put us old timers in the ground real quick. We are doomed.
