Was out doing some mowing with my B2710 when the fan/alternator belt broke. Ordered a new one from messicks. Is there anything I need to keep in mind when I put the new one back on? It looks like there is only 3 pulleys it needs to ride on and the alternator has the tensioner on it. That's about all I know.

You might want to make sure the fan/water pump and alternator turn smoothly while the belt is off. Check for bent pulleys and that they are in alignment.
funny you should say that. When I went to put the new belt on I found that the alternator is seized up. So now I’m trying to find a new alternator. When I go on messicks and look Up the alternator part number and find a picture of it it looks completely different than my alternator. What’s up with that?

You have a dynamo, there was probably an alternator option for more power.
The dynamo puts out unregulated AC, similar to a riding lawn mower. It's much simpler than the $200+ price would indicate, no brushes even. You can easily replace the three bearings. They're about $20 each from Messick's, but you should be able to get them from a supply house cheaper and quicker.

They are EASILY rebuildable. The bearings often seize and that really is the only thing that "ever" fails in them.
17mm nut on back, take it off, tap the shaft out and then pull it apart. IIRC, 6203 radial ball bearings. 2 I think.
