Getting up this morning there was a bit of a chill in the air and heading out to the truck to head to PT, I gave ponder to what is coming sooner rather than later...
Yes sport fans FOOTBALL and while I do not partake in the enjoyment of the sport my self.
I do however enjoy partaking in the food and drink and merriment of those that do enjoy the sport.
This leads me to the meat of my rant.... Yes it is a PIXBURG favorite since, since, well only God knows since when.
It is the world famous PIXBURG BBQ CHIPED CHOPPED HAM SAMICH.
Anybody from the Burgh knows this good food!
Now for your dinning pleasure permit me to address my recipe if I may and feel free to add or remove anything you think may make it better
( like ats gona happen)

1 Large pot maybe a 3qt

1 Cup of ketchup of course any kind will work but a true Burger would use Heinz 57
1 Cup of water
1 table spoon of brown sugar,, Dominos is the best
1 Table spoon of Cider, Vinegar Bel View is the only choice for this
1/4 cup of Sweet Pickle Relish again Heinz or Bel View
1 Table spoon of Worcestershire
1 Pinch of Garlic Salt
1Pinch of Black Pepper
½ teaspoon of Liquid Smoke
1 Pound of chipped chopped ham
Now mix everything together and simmer for say 20 minuets. It will have a very sharp aroma puckery if you will as you mix it a little bit so it doesn’t burn to the bottom of the pot. If this don’t make your mouth water you’re a browns fan,,
Take the chipped ham and roll it up and then cut through it so its shredded up. After the mix has simmered for 20 or so minuets mix in the chipped ham and let it heat through. Use tongs nd fill the buns up and watch the juice it WILL BE HOT,, pop a top on a cold Iron and enjoy

To heck with football. Today is opening day of archery deer season. Fall yummiest starts with fresh venison and include fresh garden produce, squash, apples, beets, peppers, garlic, onions, maybe some wild fall mushrooms. Not that pre-processed pre-packaged artificial food like substance. If it's got a label on it, it ain't real food. I expect to be butchering the first one this weekend.

Fresh venison or moose.

Hey Skeets,

Think anybody from outside the area is gonna know what chipped chopped ham is? The bbq sauce sounds pretty good though. I might have to give that a shot instead of our usual "out of the bottle" stuff.

Guilty as charged sir.
And I'm gonna stay wild until they move me into the nursing home (where they will make me wear pants and eat bland soft food)
