Factory dozer hydraulic hook-up?

Just picked up a nice dozer blade with controls, mounts and lines. I'm wondering what I all need to hook up the hydrolics. I know one line goes to the conection under the front of the seat....but where does the other line connect too (1980 B7100hst).

Then it looks like I need some reducing valves to connect the 1/4" lines to the tractor. What size and kind do I need? Also was thing of using quick disconnects.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are connecting to the valve under the seat for your hydraulic pressure line, then the return gets plumed into the fill cap on the top of the transmission. Use 1/2 npt fittings and add a "T" for the return line and the fill plug screws back on the top.

Re: Factory dozer hydrolic hook up???

Thanks Sam. Is this the best way to hook it up or do I have other options. Sorry I'm new to all this hydraulic stuff.

Re: Factory dozer hydrolic hook up???

There is a few ways to tap the hydraulics. I think the easiest way is to use the hydraulic block down near the break pedal. The adapter plate is Part#: 70070-00385. I don't know if they are still available, but you may be able to come up with one used from a bone yard if it's not available new. My blade runs off the block, I have read of others using the diverter valve. Splitting the hydraulic pressure line is also another option, there is a video of it if you click videos in the upper right corner.

Re: Factory dozer hydrolic hook up???

I would (and have done to mine) hook up to the block in front of the pedals, that's how they did it on the factory setup.
Yes the block is still available and it comes with the fittings to hook up the lines #6 JIC.

Re: Factory dozer hydrolic hook up???

Thanks wolfman, does that part replace what's on the block currently? Right Now I have an aluminum block with 4 bolts on it. Guessing that's the cover?

Do I just replace that with the above part number and connect the lines to it?

Re: Factory dozer hydrolic hook up???

Your guess is right, that is just the cover. That cover will be replaced with the diverter plate kit which will give you an In and out port to connect to the spool. Just remember, if you ever take the blade off you must loop those two ports together with a short hydraulic line. They can not be caped off.

You'll like the blade, it's a nice attachment to have!

Re: Factory dozer hydrolic hook up???

It may be possible but I believe it's a bit pressed for space. Personally I wouldn't waste the money on quick connects, it only takes a few minutes and two wrenches to spin a hydraulic fitting. It may be a bad idea to use QC's for that because if for some reason they don't snap in correctly the loop will be stopped by the QC. That will then do all sorts of damage to The pump. That won't happen with regular hydraulic fittings.

Re: Factory dozer hydrolic hook up???

I wouldn't put the connectors on the block, not enough room.
But on the ends of the lines would work fine and I wouldn't use AG connectors, I would use flat face ones. ;)

Got the diverter block today. It didn't come with any fittings.

Sorry if this is stupid question but I guess I'm kind of at a lose what I need, sizes and where to get it. I'm going to replace the lines on the blade bc they all seem to be leaking a bit. Any help would be great.

For some reason I can't find the manual to the b205, when I find it I need to scan the whole damm thing! I'm not sure what size the female ports on the block are. I don't have my tractor at the house right now so I'm working off of memory . I'm pretty sure they are SAE, and mine uses 2 elbows that are X 1/4" IPS Female. On My valve, the In/Out ports are 3/8 IPS female, and the working ports are 1/4" IPS female. Here is part of the parts diagram that I had scanned, this will give you the hose lengths to the blade cylinders. Although, this diagram shows the hydraulics fed from a diverter valve. The In/Out hoses can be measured for what exactly they need.

Hopefully someone that knows the size of the block ports will chime in. If not you can bring the block plate to a hydraulics shop and find what fits. Some auto parts shops and tractor dealers make up hydraulic hoses and stock fittings. Online stores like surplus center are also an option.
Hopefully this is of some use to you.

Well that's the pits, mine came with the fittings.

3/8 boss o-ring fittings to #6 JIC if I remember right.

Let me dig in my hydraulic parts bin in the morning and I'm pretty sure I have a dozen or more and would be more then happy to send you a pair.

If it's a 2 line valve ( in and out); In is the front port of the block and out is the back port of the block.

If it's a 3 line valve ( Pressure /In , PB (Power beyond)/Out, Tank (return)); Front port is pressure, back port is PB, and pipe return to fill port on the top of the transmission.

Alright I hooked up everything.....it goes up and down fine, BUT when I use the side to side controls, it labors the engine and it sprays fluid out the pump in the motor......should I try switching the lines on the diverter block???
