Hi, my mower has an air leak somewhere in the hydraulic system. It is causing foamy bubbly oil which is expanding and pouring our the breather. I have just changed the fluid, the filters and cleaned the screens but it did not fix the problem. My next guess is a loose connection somewhere letting air into the system.

Does anyone know where are the best places to check first or the more common areas for loose connections etc that could lead to air in the hydraulic oil.

Im just trying to narrow the problem down as quickly as possible.

Many thanks
Matt

So this was happening before the fluid/filter change?

What fluid you replace with?

Possible connection points to look at:

Yes the problem occured before I changed the fluid, filters etc. The pipe running to the oil cooler has a screen in it, so would this also be a suction pipe?

I ask this because the flexible joiner (090) is in terrible condition and the hose clamps are ruined and do not tighten or loosen. The pipes dont even line up too well on either side of the flexible joiners. The joiner is shown in photo below with plastic bottle underneath. I removed the clamps and it is leaking oil.

That would be a good place to start. 130 in that is the strainer. Looks like your pipe is bent causing the misalignment.
