Does anyone have experience with adding part # K7591-99810, extended length dipstick for RTV-X900?
I recently became aware Kubota makes this product. However, I can't find any feedback on whether it's worth $90 plus freight. Seems mighty expensive for a dipstick. I was wondering if there are any additional parts (i.e. extended tube) required. I have only one complaint with the RTV-X900 and that is the location of the dipstick under the bed. I am probably the only owner who's RTV bed is full of tools all of the time. To unload the bed and check the engine oil level is a real pain. Hence, extended length dipstick would solve this problem.

How would an extended dipstick solve the problem?
I have an RTV-X900, and have no problem raising the bed despite the junk and the school bus seat I have installed on the bed floor (using quick-release mounts.) I just let loose items slide around when any are in the bed. I’ve found no reason to check the dipstick more often than once a month since it uses no oil and has an oil-alert on the panel as standard equipment. Is yours using a lot of oil?
Does the “extended” dipstick allow acess without raising the bed? How?

Good question. I imagine the extended length dipstick enables the owner to check engine oil level without raising the bed. If this is the case, then the advantage seems obvious. However, I cannot find any literature or description for this part. My guess is the parts guy at the dealership will be more clueless than we are unless he owns an RTV. Any ideas on where to get more info?

See page 31 from Kubota's Accessory Catalogue: "Check oil regularly and precisely without having to raise the dump bed".

Well...if your extended dipstick says you are low on oil.... guess what you’re gonna have to do anyway.....
I admit I don’t check my oil level between oil changes because it hasn’t used any measurable amount of consumption. Same as my wifes car, my truck, my tractor, etc etc. I only check them when I have other reason to be under the hood. (I do check the airplane every flight. because it’s a required action and airplanes ordinarily do consume oil (loosely-built air cooled engine.).

I guess a meticulous owner might enjoy an extended dipstick.

How often do you need to check your oil? I own five RTVs and often put 60-70 hours a week on them. I have never found one to be low on oil. Don’t misunderstand me checking the oil is good but maybe once every 50 hours is plenty. We check ours out once a week, check the oil, clean air filter, etc. We too have to unload our beds but it isn’t something we have to do so often that it is burdensom.
