I'm getting an error 60 message on my L3540, that according to the manual is the "proportional valve is in trouble". The manual says like all other error messages to contact your local Kabota dealer. Has anyone out there experienced this and is it something a DIY can handle ? The tractor will not go forward or reverse. I just purchased this 2010 Kabota a few weeks ago. Thanks for any advice.

First thing you need to do is get the WSM and read up on what's required to diagnose and fix the problem and decide if it's something you can do.

It's hard for us to be able to tell you if you have the skills to be able to repair it yourself or not. ;)

OK, just in case someone else runs into this problem. I spoke to my local Kabota service rep and told him about the ERROR 60 "proportional valve in trouble..contact your local Kabota service dept". He went to his PDF file of trouble shooting section and concluded that I probably had a loose wire from the solenoid to the proportional valve, but couldn't tell me where anything was.
Crawled under tractor and right below the the steering column on the left side, under the clutch platform was the loose wire that been pulled loose by some small saplings I was pushing over with the loading bucket. The connector was broken up badly, but I managed to make the re-connection and used electrical tape to seal out all moisture and keep the wire attached to the proportional.
The wires location isn't the best place this could be, and the protective bracket that was bent forward wasn't even close to covering the proportional valve wire connector, and is too light to protect such an important component. Bottom line, if you're in tall weeds or saplings......take it easy!!!!

That information is the WSM it not magical dealer only info.
And if you get the WSM you will have that information at your fingertips.
It also does tell you where things are at, he just didn't want to either spend the time to tell you, or he wanted you to come in so he could fix it. ;)
