New to this forum, hope this is the correct place to post this question.
I recently acquired a used BX24. It has the front bucket, backhoe, mower deck (deck is off right now) The engine starts fine and runs fine, the hand throttle works fine. When I press the forward or reverse pedal the engine quits running.
I am new to these machines and it seems like something is telling the machine that it is unsafe to move. I do not know what all the levers and knobs control yet and I do not have the users manual. The hoe and the loader work fine and operating them does not affect the engine operation. Any help with this will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Well I have been working with this Kubota and so far I have found no seat switch, I did however find that someone has taped a switch closed with electrical tape and there is another two wire plug (on the left side of the seat) that has a jumper installed to create the circuit (I guess that is the reason for the jumper) and both the tape jobs were pretty lousy, they were not sealed and were full of grass clippings and pretty rusty. I also located the fuel pump and filters, the fuel pump runs but the filters will need to be changed. I also found that with a full tank of fuel and the filter that is in line before the fuel pump removed there is no fuel coming out of the fuel line. Must be something in the tank plugging the outlet. Going to take an air line and blow the fuel line out and see if I can get fuel to flow. Does anyone know if there is a screen or filter device of any type inside the fuel tank?

Well I guess the switches that were bypassed were the running issue. I removed the connectors and wire nutted the wire ends and I am finally able to drive the machine (after blowing out the fuel line). I assume the problem will return, I suppose I will have to remove the tank and clean it out good eventually.

First suspect is the seat safety switch AKA operator presence switch. You have to have yer butt in the seat and be heavy enough to close the switch before the tractor will move.

I did find the operators manual and a detailed parts list for this machine online. I have purchased the manual and downloaded both the operators manual and parts list. Am browsing the operators manual to learn the functions of the various controls.
