Specifically, the API oil rating must start with a "C" (for "compression") followed by a letter. The most recent is CJ-4 (I think).

Your manual should have all the information and weights acceptable for your tractor.

Chevron Delo and Shell Rotella oils are hard to beat for dino-based.

Per Consumer Reports, they have found in recent years that non-synthetic motor oils have become so uniform in their characteristics that they are virtually indistinguishable one from another. Minor differences are attributable to various post-refining additive packages. Twenty or even ten years ago there might have been a level of discernable difference at the laboratory level but even that has changed dramatically. If the engine oil meets the latest API specifications (symbol on bottle) you're good to go. Or choose your personal brand preference; it won't make a difference.
