1700:1 assumes atmospheric pressure. Since expansion within a cylinder is contained and under pressure, maybe the expansion is only 300:1 inside a diesel engine.

That is what I was wondering if that 300 was an under pressure number. I just recognized the 1700 from the fire service.

Cheryl, I'm glad you got your tractor up and running again. Plus, I enjoyed reading through the suggestions, especially the suggestion of "water worm."

I thought it may be a good idea to have one of these so I did some searching. The only thing I found called water worm was from a company in NZ.

I did, however, find another product that may be just as worthy. It is not to be left in a tank longer than 60 days and it is not re-useable but it may be good to use one on occasion just to prevent the issues Cheryl had. These are $20.50 each prior to shipping. If that water eliminator absorbs water why not just remove it from the tank and let it lay in the open and let the water evaporate and reuse?
