engine for a ZG127S

Need an engine for a 2016 ZG 127S. Tired of the Kohler issues. Is there anyone out there (prefer around DFW) that has a good used engine for sale. I would do the Kawasaki swap if I could get the correct muffler for it.

I have ordered from Small Engine Warehouse before. They should have what you need.probably be better off price wise to get a new one unless you find an individual that sells them. A few years ago a coworker bought a “used and unknown history” engine from a local guy for his zero turn and it was still around $600.

The issue is the cost of the engine vs. value of the mower. If I could find a good 500-600 mower, it would be worth repairing. I was hoping someone somewhere has done a pro upgrade and could tell me what engine would fit with the minimum number of mods. Otherwise, I will sell it for the body and move on. I also have a Z242 which has no issues. I don't know if one of those engines will fit in it. I serviced it way more than they called for but am really let down.
