Emergency B21 fuel Solenoid

Emergency situation, need help.
I am at the bottom of the mountain at my isolated chalet with 2 feet of snow. I started my B21 Kubota to start snow blowing, the engine started no problems, turn it off after noticing I didn't have enough fuel to do all the snow blowing, filled it up, it started but quit afterwards and never wanted to start again, I notice that every time I turn the key in the ignition that the normal click (engaging of fuel solenoid) could not be heard, I took the connector off the fuel solenoid and energized it with 12v. from the battery, the solenoid started to make a engaging flicker noise, turn the key ignition and the engine started. Question, can the engine run without the fuel solenoid for me to be able to clear the road and get the truck from from the bottom of the mountain and go buy what I need the fix the problem.

First check the fuse as it might have blown it,
but the flickering of the solenoid sounds like it has a broken connection inside of it.
Just leave the solenoid jumped if it keeps it running, if not try pushing the wire into the solenoid.
If that doesn't work, pull the solenoid out, cut off the rod, then reinsert, that will keep it running, when your done try manually turning the fuel control lever on the side of the injection pump to shut it off, if that doesn't work remove the solenoid push a pencil into the hole to push the fuel rack to stop position. ;)

LOL... I like that quote, "just another day in the woods" for me, it's just another one in the mountains...lol...

The solenoid has two windings, one is about .4 ohms, the other about 12 or so. When you crank, both windings are energized. The low ohm coil pulls in the solenoid, that was the defective one that cause the problem I had. The higher ohm one is holds it in. When energized/pulled in, a sliding bar allows fuel to flow. When it's off (when you turn the tractor off) the holding coil is turned off, the solenoid rod pops out, the bar that switches the fuel moves, the fuel is cut off, and the engine stops.
Anywhoo... I was able to snow blow the road to get back on top of the mountain with the stop solenoid removed, the solenoid has been changed with a new one and my orange girl works just fine now... Thank you so much for your help, well appreciated.
