Speaking of safety, how will you keep the three point lift arms locked in a set position? I would also like to use my dump trailer as O.P. described but the lift arm issue has me concerned.

I use the 3ph all the time, only way i can get trailers connected. You can use a chain to keep the 3pt from lifting.doesn't have to be 'tight', 1-2" slack is ok.
Actually don't have the OEM drawbars on any of the 4 tractors around here...
My draw bar is set up to tow hay trailers with a long draw bar and pin hitch. No way it would tow a standard V A frame trailer without lift arms getting in the way. I do have a 3 point mount hitch adapter and it works great but on a dump trailer I question what the lift arms will do.

Pulling from anywhere higher than the drawbar can go from countering the rear wheel rotation and keeping the front end down to pulling the front end up if the 3pt is near axle height or higher.
Moving an empty trailer is one thing. Pulling a loaded one with a 3pt attachment can take you by surprise just like moving with your FEL raised high.
