I've never owned one of these tractors before, So I was wondering where do you get parts?
Can you even get new parts for an old B6000?

I'm going to buy a nice B6000 in a few days. It just occurred to me I better ask before this turned into the JD AMT problem I ran into a while back.

They no longer sell the parts to repair them.

So... I can buy new parts for an old B6000.... right?
If so where... online or a dealer or... what.
:D

You know the 6000 has a reverse rotation PTO, right?
Does it have the reverser with it?
If not, you will not be able to use any modern implements.

As for parts, some serviceable parts at the dealer such as tie rod ends and filters and the like....but hard parts? Hope you never need a gear for it.

Most engine parts can be found after market or salvage.

I figured as much.
I know the guy who owns it, and the tractors history. Its mostly been used for pushing snow off a parking lot. For the last 20 yrs that's about all it has done. His dad bought it new and treated it better than the kids. lol

It came with a roto tiller which is all I'll probably ever need. There is a brush hog and a finish mower available for it but I don't need either one. (but the seller is gonna want to sell those to someone, he said they are reverse rotation for that tractor)

Do you guys have links here to after market parts vendors?

If you are going to buy it, get it ALL!

Your 6000 will have a much better value complete.

All or nothing here!

Links? I don't, others will point you to Colemans or Messicks or other.

You will find parts as you need them, they will come.

Filters and such can be found anywhere......glow plugs and the like.......NAPA or dealer or ebay. Wheels and tires are not a problem.

Our old L3750 is over 25 years old, when I rebuilt the front end a couple
years ago my local dealer was able to get all the parts. Even the gears...

As far as I know, the tractor itself has not been abused or over worked, and well maintained from the the day it was new. The dad was OCD about caring for it, and the son pretty much retired it to parking lot clearing duty other than tilling a few gardens, and brush hogging his overgrown back yard....and he also regularly maintained it.

I doubt the gears and drivetrain parts are all that worn. I'm concerned about being able to have the engine worked on and the parts availability. The Injector pump, sensors, switches, gaskets, water pumps... ect. Stuff that normally needs replaced/rebuilt on tractors.

I guess it will give me a good incentive to treat it well, right?
:p

It's job will be hauling cow manure and dragging trees out of the woods for firewood. Other than that we dont have much hard use for it. But small garden tractors and ATVs just don't have the design or the guts to do the job.

This thing seem to be built like a tank.

I was referring to trans gears.

I know what headache I had getting a PTO gear for mine.

You'll find part numbers change with SN splits and no one knows if new part number is good or if available part is correct or not.

My B7100 was built approx in 1983. Other than an issue with metal hydraulic lines I am dealing with in a current post, I have had no problem finding parts directly for Kubota.

Considering it is a 30 year old tractor, I am impressed with what I have been to acquire from Kubota for parts.

There is a ton of 7100s out there. I was going to point him in that direction but he has his heart set on this one.

Yours must be older than mine, odd model or?

My dealer looked the parts up and ordered them. Seals bearings, gears,
front drive shaft, etc...

I've been looking around at other makes, and other kubota models. I keep wandering back to this one as the others I have looked at they want a lot more money with no attachments, or they are totally shot to pieces (and they want more money). I figure knowing the history of the thing is a big plus. Also this older one seem better built for some reason.

I looked at a B7100 with a loader on it for $3200 and It was a mess. it ran but it was pretty neglected and rusty. I got this B6000 with a nice clean tiller and an front blade for 3k. There is a 4 set of wheel weights with it but he cant find em. If he digs those up I think I got a decent buy.

From what it sounds like you have a great deal even without the wheel weights. If it were me I would just go for it and not loose any sleep.

The condition that it is in and knowing how well it was cared for makes all the difference.

Enjoy your great find !!!
