I have been researching my tractor purchase under the presumption that I would be buying a Kubota. Now that I have chosen a B3350 with front end loader It's time for the next step in the process. I would like to look at the other prominent brands and compare them.

My question is: If you had to buy a comparable tractor to the Kubota you bought but had to from another Manufacturer what company would that be and why?

To me weight and reliability is everything. My HST L4760/LH1055/BH92 with 3rd loop and hydro BH thumb at three years old has never left me a bit anxious about anything I may have missed with a competitor. To my way of thinking though, I only considered green blue orange and red. Besides features/benefits/value, the ultimate vote cast was that of my rural central Texas ranch neighbors....hands down Kubota fans with many reputable dealers in the accessible 100 mile radius (I said reputable, though proud of their product).

This decision is a lot like a vehicle/truck purchase decision....you sorta know in your heart who you are; they'll all likely do the job. Some folks like Ford, some GM, etc....

You can print out the specs for every tractor available.
Do that for the Kubota you want then compare that to other manufacturers you are thinking about.
But specs aren't everything. Comfort, controls, implements and attachments, warranty and service all fit into your decision.
There isn't one person here who can tell you what you want other than you.

Deere 2R would be a fair comparison. 3R is more of an L sized machine. LS makes New Holland machines under a certain HP, so you could check them out.

If you researched the B3350 and are still set on buying it, God Bless you.

I wouldn't be too concerned about other's opinions of tractors, best find a dealer nearby you can get service and parts from and go see what they've got, then YOU decide what will work best for your situation.

B3350 is probably one of Kubota's most problematic tractors. Stay away!!
Browse this site for a bit on them, not much good said about them.

Consider the L3301, very highly reviewed. Or if the cab is what your after, the B2650 is a hell of a machine. It is on the exact chassis as the B3350, just with a smaller engine, weight is very similar, same loader, same backhoe option, plus no DPF.

Thanks for all the input regarding the b3350. I have definitely not made a firm decision but I am leaning that way. I completely understand the dog concern with the b3350 but my local dealer assures me the problem has been solved. I believe this is the right machine for me as I will be using a flail mower in our vineyard which leads me to want the increased hp over the 2650 and I really like the idea of a front mounted snow blower which required the mid pro therefore the smaller L's are out. Again, no decisions yet but I definitely want to pull the trigger on something be the end of summer as our building is going up in a couple of months and there are lots of non vineyard uses.

I am very aware of the regen issues that the B3350 has had. My local dealer has been very up front about this and assures me the issues have been solved. At this point I have no reason to doubt them.

My choice of the B3350 comes from two primary factors. First, I will by pulling a flail mower straight up rows in our fairly steep soon to be vineyard which uses a lot of hp. I am liking the fact that the B3350 has more hp than the B2650. My vineyard will be on a fairly steep hillside. Second, I really like the idea of a front mounted snow blower which requires the mid pto that the L's don't have. Thus I landed on the B3350. Like I said in the previous post, I have not written any checks or signed any documents so I still have time to think this through but this is where I am leaning and why.

At least one person on the forum is running the same size Caroni flail as I have on my L tractor on a B2650. I havent tried it but I think it might be fine. Search under Caroni flail. So far I haven't found my B2650 to be underpowered and I like its maneuverability. If you have the space consider the L 3560. Can come with mid pto. You could make use of its features in a vineyard. It is more of a serious work tractor.
