Speaking of dryers- while you have it open, or apart from the wall, it's a good time to clean your duct to the outside. I've got hard duct in my house, so I just tape my leaf blower to the pipe. One quick pull of the trigger has a sparkling clean pipe. My wife complained about the exhaust smell from the BR-600 for a few minutes, but she shut up when she saw how much crap came out of the side of the house (20' of pipe). Next time I'll try it with my handheld electric Milwaukee blower to see if it's got the stones to clean the pipe.
Yeah. I rolled in the shop vac and an air line and spent about 20 min getting all the lint out. Had just cleaned it last summer but there was quite a bit. I have a brush to clean the vent pipe and that is on tap for Saturday. I expect to get quite a bit out of it.

I can live without a washer/dryer/dish washer for a few days, however I keep a new, in the box, thermistor and igniter on top of the furnace.

They last about 5-7 years, and only crap out when it's "stupid cold" out on Saturday at 1700, after everyone is closed until Monday.

They have saved my ass once or twice already when it 0 degrees outside and the furnace wont light. (y)

I also have a new, already plumbed, sump pump sitting next to the crock.....Cause they are apparently programmed to quit only during "monsoon season" ........

Do you have a battery backup wired in for when the power goes out during monsoon season?

I take the outside vent cover off, turn the dryer on no-heat, tie some rags on a fish tape/rod, swab it, and let 'er blow out.

Not easy (or even possible?) with my house.

First pic shows approximate level of dryer connection, 4 1/2' below grade.
2nd pic shows approximate location of dryer, (green arrow) and the outside dryer vent. (red arrow)
Between them it is piped with rectangular house downspout , with god knows how many turns/angles/connections.
A couple times a year, I pull the cover and screen from the roof, and use a high velocity leaf blower to blast the lint out from the inside.
