Have a B2601 TLBM that is more than I need at my new home. Bought it when I had 16 acres to replace a L2250. Was offered a premium to sell acreage a year later and moved the B to 1 acre.
My dealer closed this summer and have been calling others but not alot
subs in stock close. Found a BX2380 with a 60 in deck. Adding a front loader would put it at 17,300.00 + tax.
Have had Kubotas since mid 80s but thinking they may be to much for my needs now.
Prefer diesel, not sure about above price. All input appreciated.

BX sounds perfect.

My guess (just a guess) is you could get the following machines for the following amounts from my local dealer.

BX1880 - QA Loader, 54" Deck - $15,411 list price. After 12% dealer discount, $13,561. After Kubota discounts ($1,300) - $12,261. Price out the door after 5.5% sales tax: ~$13,000.
BX2380 - QA Loader, 60" drive over deck - $18,600 list price. After 12% dealer discount, $16,368. After Kubota discounts ($2,000) - $14,368. Price out the door with 5.5% sales tax: ~$15,200.

That 1880 seems like a killer deal - especially if you could live without the 60" deck and the drive over feature. IMO Kubota's deck system isn't great when compared to JD. The drive over deck really isn't a game changing feature in my opinion.

I'd give it a year then decide if smaller = better.
I believe the new BX has adjustable steering wheel, easier to drop loader. Lower to ground = easier climbing on & off. Biggest problem on forums - hydraulic manifold leaks - quiz dealer on this issue.

You would be going from 3 range to 2 range transmission, probably won't matter.
Smaller tires = bumpier ride, you may miss the positional 3pt control for repeatable settings (blade, rake, ect).

Be advised that BX tractors do not have position control.

The lack of position control is a show stopper for me.

If it was me keep it I would park the loader and backhoe though. See how a year or so goes see if you miss them. I have less land with a B2601 its a great mower with loader off.

If you weren't so far away I'd start a dialog about a trade of some sorts as I'm on the opposite end. I've got a BX2680 and am looking to upgrade to something bigger with a backhoe.

I say take some time to be sure your current B2601 is really to much tractor. Moving to a smaller machine will likely be costly in terms of your real spend...then maybe that does not matter as much as feeling comfortable with the size

It's all in the 'details'...
1st, do you plan to sell your curent Kubota? If so how much REAL cash will you get for it?
2nd, Only an acre, same as my place and my BX23S handle everything, cept no mower.
3rd How much grass to cut and obstacles ? I use a 20yr old MTD with 42" deck. It's a LOT easier to get around trees than ANY 60" decked machine !
4th snow. push or blow? A rear blower is 2500 up here, front 5K.but how long is the driveway ?
5th get SSQA not a pin loader.you'lll understand why the first time you curse trying to get bucket and pins lined up and drop a pin in the snow ,or gravel....
6th loader ops NEED rear ballast.as you'll be mowing, 3PH weights NOT filled tires
I have a dedicated 'rider mower' , 'rider snowblower' and the BX23. Less than $1000 in the two riders and NO changing of implements saves my back. The 'one tractor-does all' doesn't work for me.If you're young and healthy and have lots of time on your hands it might.

Been offered 16 thousand trade value on 2601 TLBM.

BX 1880 $16,020.03. With frt loader+ BB
54 in mmm

BX 2380 $18,561.10 with frt loader+ BB
60 in mmm

both include sales tax and $1416 shipping and set up fees.

understand quick attach, have it now.

When you trade in a car you do not pay sales tax on that value in Illinois. Should it apply to tractors? Thanks

Gosh, the $16k for your TLB seems a little light, but they always are....With MMM? Not sure what retail for the set-up would be used, especially with Kubota having 0% on a regular basis on new.

Like vidiot, I'm looking at going from BX to B, and the trade offer I got ($10k) a couple years ago on my tractor kinda killed the deal. I'm also too far away to make anything feasible between us....

PS - - seems there were a couple guys with new pricing for B2601 TLB recently ~20k +/-? It seemed like it was less than I expected. If my memory is correct, maybe the $16k is more than fair....

My 2 cents for what ever it is worth. Just keep the B you have all the toys for it and trust me when you go looking for toys for a sub compact they real expensive. And really a B2601 aint a whole lot bigger than the BX. Yes larger frame tires and a bit heaver and really I can attest that you will find things around the new place you will need done that you will kick your self for getting rid of that beasty,
Like I said just my 2 cents

I'm looking to move from a BX to a B. The machine fits in the same footprint pretty much - it's not a lot longer or wider. It's taller, and quite a bit more capable, for 15% more weight give or take. I'm not sure I'd trade down unless you have a very specific thing you want to do that a B is too big for.

I’m ,9 acres with a 5200 sq house on it and trees. The 1880 I drove today would fit in areas the 2601 would not. Will miss the BH but that’s doable.

Fit in what sense? Are we talking mower width (you can get a 54" mower for the B), or raw machine width/length/height? If I recall correctly the B turns sharper than the BX (if you use the wheel brakes), and is only a couple inches wider at the wheels.

You said things changed when they offered you good money for the place. May be they change again. For the approximately $1300 difference 17,300(BX) - 16,000(B) I could almost buy a box store mower that is small enough to do the little places and still keep my toys.
