Looking for new blades for my new Kubota Z242KW-48 zero turn. I currently use G5 blades on my Kubota ZD331 and like them so I'm interested in using the G5's on the new smaller mower. Kubota's parts diagram only showed a mulching blade (48-H28-TR #K5579-34350) if I'm reading it correctly.

Mower: Z242KW-48 (purchased a few months ago)
Deck: RCK48P-200Z (3-blade deck)

Coleman Equipment shows the dimensions of the #K5579-34350 as being: 16-1/2" long, 2-1/2" wide, 1/4" thick with a 3/4" blade mounting hole. I haven't removed the blades yet to obtain my own measurements.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Jay: Thanks for your response, looks like the Oregon G5 #596-330 should work, thinner than my other G5's, 0.187" vs 0.250". Oregon and others are not cross referencing this blade to the Kubota Z242 or the deck RCK48P-200Z. Wonder if this is a new Kubota deck. Anyway, ordered a set and will give them a try.

Addendum: I see that Oregon makes a G6 blade. The G6 blade that will fit my deck is Oregon #391-614 and it's thickness is 0.250" along with correct other dimensions. Cost more but I like the thickness for longevity. Will give these a try as well.

I used these on my zd326 and they worked well for mulching but left more clumps in the swarf. Works well on reducing dry leaves in fall.

I prefer using high lift blades, less clumping, blows the swarf further away. Leaves the grass clean in fall.

You're right Mikester, they aren't the best cutting blades vs high lift but my soil is really sandy and the high lift blades are short lived here.

Sandy here too. The gators lasted me two seasons vs 1 season on the high lift. They were well made, didn't get sandblasted paper thin, and I'd consider getting a set again.

The other negative I found was the gators wouldn't cut plantain stalks. They would just lie flat and pop back up after driving over. I had to slow down or cut twice. More an issue with my "lawn" being more weedy than grass!

I brought the g6 blades 391-614 and it look like the z242-48 blade are 11/16 center hole and the g6 3/4, will it make any difference ?

Not sure if your mower is much different than my MMM but the Oregon gator blades I bought to fit were 3/16" thick rather than the 1/4" of the stock blades. I had to add a third washer to get them to tighten. While at the dealer I saw they had some gator style blades of a different manufacturer that were 1/4" thick thus would not require an additional washer. Sorry, I don't remember the blade brand.
