On my grand L6060 I click the key two positions to the right. I fill up the tank and as it gets full the tank has a beeper that gradually goes to a solid beeeeeeeeep when it is full. Does the new 5400/6000 series do that?
could you check it next time you fill it up?I have a MX6000 cab model but to be honest I never have the key on when filling with fuel. Never really thought about leaving the key on while filling it up.
I have a L3540HST and a L4060HSTC. They both beep.On my grand L6060 I click the key two positions to the right. I fill up the tank and as it gets full the tank has a beeper that gradually goes to a solid beeeeeeeeep when it is full. Does the new 5400/6000 series do that?
turn key 2 clicks to the rightI am embarrassed to say I own a 4760 and have no idea if my tractor will beep when filling the fuel. I have overfilled the fuel almost every time I top it off, and said bad things about the engineer that placed the fuel fill at the level that they did. I hope it will work.
Key on my open cab 4760 only has 1 click to the right then crank. I can here fuel pump running so maybe it will beep while filling.turn key 2 clicks to the right
How would the tractor know when you're filling the fuel tank? Surely you'd hear a beep with the key in the "on" position prior to turning it to the "start" position if it were a feature.Key on my open cab 4760 only has 1 click to the right then crank. According to my owners manual it is a feature that the Grand L tractors have. How it works? No idea. It is supposed to work with the key in the first position for tractors like mine or in the 2nd position for cab models. I have to wait to burn off fuel before I can test it. Kubots states refill at 1/4 tank and I have been topping off tank constantly. How would the tractor know when you're filling the fuel tank? I would expect the float in the fuel tank is the most likely way that the tractor knows fuel is being added to the tank. Maybe a circuit is active only when the float position is changing at a rate that is consistent with the tank being filled.According to my owners manual it is a feature that the Grand L tractors have. It is a feature only on Grand Ls and KX excavators. It is reading the fuel level sender to warn you so you do not overfill and run fuel on the ground.I would expect the float in the fuel tank is the most likely way that the tractor knows fuel is being added to the tank. Bingo.I wish K would start making tractor fuel tanks and refilling at ground level like some of the other brands. The beep feature sounds like a nice to have option if you have to use gerry cans.
It wasn't a too much trouble to fill the BX tank with 5 gallon cans but when I got the MX with the filler neck up on the hood and a 13 gallon capacity I decided I wasn't going to mess with that any more. My solution was a JohnDow 106 gallon fuel tank with an auto shut-off nozzle. Definitely a really good investment and good enough that I recommended it to a friend with an L who is equally happy with his.Bingo.
The fill spout on my M9960 ROPS is behind the seat, very hard to access with 5 gallon cans and mower connected to the hitch.
Cab models have filler in front of left door.

The L3560 rops has the fuel fill on the right hand side at "ground" level, about 3 1/2 feet up. Reason I bought it. Wish the B2650 were similar. Depends on whether or not tractor uses gravity flow for fuel supply, even historically.I wish K would start making tractor fuel tanks and refilling at ground level like some of the other brands.
