I am sure everyone has ideas for new implements. There is probably a good reason why they don't exist. I watched video's of incredibly expensive logging equipment, but what would be so hard about modifying a backhoe into a tree shear. Liability seems like the answer. someone would try to take down a 120 ft tree with a lawnmower.
replace the bucket with a shear that can cut limbs and small trees.

I've looked at them but I don't have 5,000psi or enough lift capacity on my BH. Even small 10" trees are heavy.
I have hundreds of trees and shrubs that are under 400 pounds. I will use the chainsaw for the larger trees. They cut down all the big trees for lumber back in the 80's

I have plenty of people with fireplaces. I am just going to cut the trees into 8 or 10 foot sections. The small branches will be a problem. I have a PTO chipper, but not on that scale.
