I'm about to plant some young trees off a good distance from the house in the woods, and I'll need to keep them watered. Will probably use some donuts and/or buckets with holes punched through, but I still need to get the water to where the trees are to fill the bags/buckets. I'd love to throw a 150-200 gallon tank on my LX2610 3PH, and then use a hose to fill the donut bags or buckets. (I probably couldn't haul 200 gallons on the LX2610 3PH, but 150 seems doable.) I've searched the forums and scoured every ag supply site -- the only 3PH-mounted tanks I can find are boom-style sprayers. I'm sure I could just remove the pump and all spraying hardware, but why pay for all of that if all I need is the tank!

I've seen IBCs and smaller tanks that accept pallet forks, but I'd much prefer to have that liquid weight in the back. I know some folks have fabricated 3PH frames for various tanks/totes, but my welding skills are nonexistent. If anyone has come across a basic tank that's framed up for a 3PH, I'd love to hear from you! Thanks.

Have you considered a 3pt fork style carry all and pair that up with a IBC tote? The Carry all could then be used for other chores. IBC totes can be found pretty cheap these days.

They make forks that mount on your 3 pt . Those totes are cheap enough that you could have one setup for drip that you swap out when the 1st tote is empty . Those 3 pt tanks that you can get from places like Northern are up on the pricy side . Totes 35-50 bucks on Craigslist .

quik chek says LX2610 can lift 1600#.....so a 'carryall with IBC tote , 1/2 full should be OK.
Plumbing is easy... long hose, with 'stick' on the end from tote's valve to you. Hold send of hose up during transport, 'poke' hose end where you want and water comes out due to gravity. simple, cheap, effective.

I love those totes . I have 3 of them sitting here full of water for fire just in case . I bought one of those Harbor Freight 1" gas powered pumps that I have strapped to a old snowmobile trailer along with a full tote . Mini fire truck plus I can take it any where i'm working on our road for dust control . I'm thinking of making a spray bar for it . You'll find other uses for your watering tote .

Well, I'll be..... Looks like my search will be headed down the path of a (reasonable) set of rear forks and an IBC (or 2 if the price is right). Many thanks for the quick/helpful responses.......

I looked on Amazon & they had a ton of listings . That mite be something you can get with free freight & even luck out & get a extended warranty for real cheap . If I spend more that's 100 - 150 on the big A I usually pay the extra for their warranty . When I got the LED hi=bay lites for my shop it was only 7 bucks for like 5 or maybe 7 extra years . Cheap insurance .

If you have a quick hitch you can tilt the IBC tote and loop the bottom tube of the IBC into the lower points of the the QH. Then I used a ratchet strap to the top hook going all the way around. I have never filled the container using this method, just needed to move the IBC container from the shed to the house. So maybe see how strong the IBC frame is with a 100 gallons in it?

I have a LX2610SU and use an IBC tote for watering my garden, no running water near it. I use a 12v pump to do the watering, gravity feed didn't work as well as I expected. I was able to lift it on FEL pallet forks with ~100 gallons in it. I have two custom pallets that hold (2) plastic 55gal barrels each with a hose connection and valve at the bottom. I can use the FEL pallet forks to move these around when completely full. I use the barrels to haul water to refill the tote.

I use an IBC connected to a gutter down spout which I use to fill a 55 gallon water tank in my FEL. Counter ballast on the 3 point hitch is another 55 gal. water tank on a pallet. I used these pallet forks from Agri Supply to lift it up (...they were $150 back when I bought them... Not sure they are worth it at $320.)

https://www.agrisupply.com/pallet-forks/p/72511/

It's nice to be able to raise the FEL up in the air to get more pressure out of the hose.

they just 'expanded' the price.....
AND the 'delivery time'..... to SIX weeks !!!

so whatever you needed watering will be dried up and shrivelled ......

My wife works at a nursery and is always bringing home " seconds" one night she came home with 30 6ft trees.....

I made a portable water wagon with a spray gun, and a hose to full up a bucket to water grass seed or trees. I have a pump on it that hooks up to the atv battery but it is slooooooooow

For bigger and faster water projects I have a big tote on a hay wagon. Fills up a bucket in seconds.

I found my tank on a consignment auction. Paid 25.00 for 2 tanks with brackets. Sold the extra tank for 75.00 and the bracket for 50.00. I got my big tote from the grain elevator my dad works at.

I highly recommend checking out online consignment farm auctions or stopping to a grain elevator asking if they have any 55 gal drums or square totes.

Also speaking of auctions you can find an old 2 wheel farm sprayer for almost nothing probably won't have a pump and the booms will be twisted but you don't need any of that anyways.

Lots of possibilities. Just remember though the weight and power water has. A half full tank is more dangerous then a full one . Water will splash around cause momentum.

yes a 'wagon' (4 wheels) is far safe than a 'trailer'(2 wheels) when hauling anything especially water !
The 'mini farm wagon' chassis you see for $300 are a great deal..had 3 at one time.

I have 2. 1 for the water tank and 1 I made a mini haywagon to haul the little family members around during get together.

20201124_182906.jpg

Rated at 1500lbs. It's a pretty versatile wagon and many options to build off from.

I bought a farm tuff mini running gear. It too was rated for 1500 lbs. I. Beleive it was 400.00.Taking it out of the box the pieces were flimsy. When it was assembled I stood on it and was bending the frame at 180lbs.......either my scale is way off or the product name is completely opposite of what it actually is.

I returned it and bought a legit 10 ton running gear for 100.00 more.

You can find 5 ton to 8 ton running gears on auctions pretty cheap. I bought one for 100.00. Stopped to a tire shop and was given some low tried truck tires if I had them mounted on the rim. Down the road sold it for 600.00.

I'd like to get a mini ez trail running gear to make a people mover but $$$$$
