No, just saying that I'll use whatever means necessary to protect my family and property.
Times have changed from how things got dealt with. I don't call 911.

Now I have a backhoe.

I'm in that same boat

I don't like eliminating house pets.

Although I've had to do it a time or two, I don't enjoy it.

This kind of reminds me, and it's a sad reminder. Years ago I was dating a girl (I was 18 she was 16 fixing to be 17 at the time), she was staying not too far from me at her stepdad's place. Her father was a drunkard, quite a loser to be honest. We really liked each other. Had a lot of fun together doing different things, like farm and country redneck stuff, etc. Anyway she went to her father's house for the weekend, about 45 min from where I was living. But we stayed in contact via phone. My old car wasn't up for any kind of trip more than about 10 minutes, overheated all the time and I didn't have the money to fix it. So that's that. Anyway she called me Sat night bawling. I mean hysterical. She was staying at someone's trailer, don' t know who it was. Kept saying come get me. I got her to calm down a little bit to find out what happened. The story I got (which mostly matched story I got from others who were there) was that her dad was plastered again, and her and her daddy got into it about something out in the barn. She had a bunch of kittens that she was fostering, her daddy hated cats. So in his drunken madness, he caught a few of the kittens and put em into a toe sack and threw em under the truck, then ran it/them over several times back and forth saying "mean" (not going into details) to her. Imagine being a girl having gone through that. My heart broke at the time, I stole my mom's little Ford Ranger (which she had just bought a week or so earlier) and ran up there to get her. Next morning I drove back to my parent's house and told mom what happened. Her and dad were pretty upset at me for taking the truck but when I told em what happened, they changed their tone a little.

Her father had all kinds of health problems and a lot of it due to excessive use of alcohol. Finally passed in 2021. I wasn't that heartbroken. Her and I still stay in contact every so often, usually around our birthday which is the same calendar day. Earlier this year I found out that she inherited all 1240 acres of his property which includes some gas wells and such, that produce income. She's still working but doesn't have to. Everything's paid for except taxes and insurance and such. Anyhow she asked me if I had interest in the 65 acres that the old house sits on, as she built a new house on another part of the property and that's where her and her husband live. Good price, but I can't buy it. I knew what happened in that house, and on that land, and an old girlfriend would be living not a mile away. Just too much baggage with that deal.
