I have been looking at buying a front mounted snow blower for my B3200 tractor. No one seems to know the difference between a B2782A and a B2782B snow blower including the Kubota dealers. So I contacted the manufacturer in Canada and the following is their response. I just wanted to share this information with everyone here.

Both are 63” wide snowblowers but the B2782A hasn’t been produced since 2012. Due to some technical changes, it became a B2782B. If you print out the parts list for each snowblower, you will find one part has a part number change. Most times, the old part is now superseded by the new part number so it shouldn't make any difference in the blowers.

There was a change in the way the sprocket is retained at the back of the impellor in the reduction box. I had a B2781A on a 2006 B3030 that used two set screws as the only means to retain the sprocket. I now have a 2018 B2650 with a B2782B snowblower, and it uses a seperate bolt on retaining plate the keep the sprocket mounted behind the impellor in the reduction box.

So should I pass on a B2782A blower because of the 2 set screws holding the sprocket? Was it That much of a problem?

It looks like there is now an added retainer available for the B28781A and B2782A sprocket in the reduction box. Attached are screen shots of both reduction boxes. The 2782A now has component 350 which appears as part of a kit. The sheetmetal cover over the large driven sprocket is also different to clear the means of retaining the sprocket.
