Dieselpump tab question and hydraulics filter question

Hi all,

I got 2 questions about my Kubota l1802dt greymarker (USA L235)

First: I changed the diesel filter a few days ago, smart move after seeing al the gunk at the bottom that came straight from Japan. But, after changing the filter the fuel line to the dieselpump seemed empty, tractor would not start... I thought... Hmm there is probably a clearing valve somewhere to take out the air. When I looked to the pump I saw a small tab. I turned it and it did not make a difference... What does this tab do? Did I mess anything up by changing its position? (See picture 1). Should it be all the way turned in or out? (Today the tractor did start without any problems...

Second: (picture 2&3) I still need to change the hydraulics filter. In another topic I have been told that I probably just can unscrew the filter. I would not loose to much hydraulic oil. Is that really correct? I do not got 24l of oil standing ready to fill it up again and I need to tractor tomorrow:)

The thumb screw is for bleeding air from the fuel system. You unscrew it, wait for a couple minutes and then close it.

You can change the hyd filter without much fluid loss as it is above the fluid level.

Nice, so it is the bleed valve. Thought so :) bus was not sure.

And the hydrau filter, that sounds good. And now you say its above the fluid level... did not even look at that. I’ll change the filter tomorrow :)
