I use Pri-D. Power Service in the green bottle is good as well.

Keep the water out of your tank by keeping it full and using quality fuel from places that go through lots of fuel. Also keep and eye on your filter bowl for water.

No water=No "algae" (i.e. microbes not actually algae)

No real need for a special additive imho.

There are a plethora of threads on this and everyone has an opinion. The key is that whatever you use is a demulsifier so that the water separator can do its job.

I use Power Service Diesel Kleen. They have both a Winter and Summer version. I think it's cheap insurance and use an additive on every truck tank as well.

The Diesel Kleen (silver bottle) is for temperatures above 30 degrees and Diesel Fuel Supplement (white bottle) is for temperatures below 30 degrees.

I have five diesel engines and buy Stanadyne Performance Formula in a bulk pack from Amazon. The more you buy the cheaper it is per oz. Stanadyne needs to be stored at temperatures above freezing until it's mixed with diesel. I used to keep a bottle in the Decked drawer system in back of my Ford F250 but no longer do that in the winter months.

I grew up in the fuel business. I would hate to think how many millions of gallons of diesel I have pumped, hauled and burned. The amount of power service we would sell in a season was crazy. Best advice is to buy clean fuel and keep it clean. Out here on the farm I use some power service and number one in my skid steer in the winter. I don't add any additive to my bulk tanks or any of my other diesels. All fuel is filtered as it is pumped into my equipment. Every thing goes in the shed when its season is over full of fuel. Never have any issues. Used the MX6000 the other day to move a few trailers in the shed around. Been at least three months since it ran last. Started right up. Got a JD 4440 with ten thousand hours on it and its never had the pump or injectors worked on.
