I probably went a little overboard, first diesel so trying to be proactive. Went with #1, PS White and a splash of Seafoam just because I had some. We are expecting more Arctic air, forecast negative to single digits for a few days. I always treat my small engine gas, usually with Stabil regular or Marine.

Are you using additives in your fuel?[/QUOTE]

Yes. Anti gel. ..fuel system treatment (5 in 1)

Recommended by heavy duty mechanic. We get cold here (-30°c this week)

Yep... I agree 100%. Now... this is where we need to put our collective heads together.... I have a 275 gallon fuel storage tank that is a little over half full in the side of the shop where the tractor is stored.... what about condensation in my storage tank... looking for a McGiver fix...

Most above ground farm storage tanks have a filter and water separator just before the hose where the shut off valve is. You can visually see what's there.

I've never had a condensation/water problem in my 300 gal. tank.

Never thought of the visual separator!!! I routinely swap out my in line fuel filter... but I am going to get the separator in short order...

The advice about keeping the fuel tank topped off and the visual fuel/water separator will solve the condensation concerns...

Thanks and make your new year a happy one! Butch

I put a splash of Seafoam in my fuel and now there is a bit of smoke now and then. Is that a characteristic of the Seafoam? The only other way I have used it was in my ATVs and mowers and used a lot more to clean them out and they smoked. Just wondering if a little bit would cause a little smoke. Also the temps were subzero if that makes a diff.
