Diamond mowers Forestry Head on L5740 loader?

Has anyone tried some radical quick release attachments on their mid-size Kubota tractor?

We've got 10acres with a ton of alder saplings and larger 4-6" diameter stuff popping up everywhere we need to keep under control. I've looked at all kinds of brush cutters and brush hogs but because the acreage is undulating not flat a 3-point mower just wouldn't work.

Does the L5740 have enough hydraulic flow on the loader attachment to run one of these bad boys?

I don't think you can put enough shield between the operator and that implement on a tractor for safe operation.

If you have 10 acres, why not hire it cleaned? $21,000 will do a lot of grinding!

Forestry head is super dangerous to operate, we just hire it to a guy with a skid steerer and a cage on it. He charges $700/acre to take down everything 6" and under

Real simple answer, no it does not, L5740 has 9.8 GPM and the forestry head needs 32 to 45 GPM to operate.

Another thing is that your loader couldn't even lift it, it weighs 2240lbs.
Your loader at the distance of the attachment is about 1500lbs max.

The only thing that comes to my mind that your tractor could handle efficiently, is a fail mower attachment, but I'm not sure it would handle 4" to 6" alder trees.

Darn it guys! $21k!!!?? Yikes. Are there ANY front mount brush cutters even medium or light duty stuff that's not so heavy or can use less than 10gpm? The terrain we have is quite undulating and I don't think a 3-point unit would work that well to be honest.

Looks like we're down to a bloody hydraulic tree shear as option #2.... but I'm almost quicker with my 94cc jonsered chainsaw!

This week I cut a bunch of 4-6" alder down left about 4ft stumps. Tied chain to my ol' ~1985 Takeuchi TB68 (7ton) excavator and pulled whole root balls out no problemo.

Trouble is though if you have a large area and you aren't mulching it's a lotta of debris to deal with.

I've only had this 09' L5740hst cab w/loader for a couple weeks. Never ever had a tractor before. So far I like it a lot. When it's below zero it does smoke a lot on cold startup for a minute until idle smooths out. I don't know what oil the dealer put in as all fluids were changed before I got it.

I put a single row 75w LED in place of halogens up front on the roof. Big difference and only $31 on fleabay. Also added a 20w solar panel w/charge controller and zip tied it inside right glass door to the handle/rail. Works great keeps battery charged all the time. We don't live on our acreage yet so sits a bit between uses.
