I just had my dial-a-cut for my BX2200 repaired at a dealer, because it was all hacked up. Anyhow, how long does this dial-a-cut gizmo supposed to last (assuming you don't ram the deck into anything or be stupid with it)?

It doesn't seem like Kubota spent much time engineering this thing. The reason that I ask, is that I don't have a flat, bump free lawn, and it seems like bumps are very hard on this particular set up. I try to go over the bumps with ease, but it's really hard to tell where they are.

At least the tractor mows right now... but I'm just concerned, as it was over $300 in repair work! (at least it was covered under warranty though)

I can already think of many other better ways to have deck height adjustment that is far superior to this one and I'm no engineer.

We have repaired very few of these. Remember, Your tractor should be carrying the mower with the wheels 1/4" or more off the ground on level ground. If your wheels are too low you will wear them out prematurely and cause unnecessary wear on the height position cam as the mower linkage loads and unloads on it. Usually we just get complaints about worn wheels though when they're not set properly. Kubota must think it's a good system, they have adopted it on the "B" series now.

I'm just thinking the previous owner didn't know how to use the tractor.

The dealer set me at 3.5" and set the gauge wheels accordingly and since 3.5" is the perfect height for my property, that is where it's going to stay forever. I'm never going to touch that thing.

However, when the deck is adjusted right and everything, the mower mows better than any mower I've ever used.

I'm just glad it was fixed under warranty... I love my Kubota dealer. :)

Most Kubota dealers are REALLY GOOD!! Sometimes they are a reflection of the customer though.
