Is DEF needed in the new Kubotas? I have an L4701 but I know some guys at work that have to add DEF to their diesel trucks all the time. I just didn't know if this was something that was needed as I haven't seen anything come up on the forums about it.

Not on any of the "compact" tractors uses def. Seems like I read a couple years ago that Kubota was considering def in some of the really big models. You might find out browsing around on the company website.
My m5 has def. It's 105 hp.
My new m62 backhoe doesn't. It's 62 hp.
