Decent Loader Valve That Won't Bankrupt me?

Yikes, ok. I had a suspicion that the sectional valves would be more expensive but I suppose I don't need to buy everything at once. I mean, by that same logic I could probably buy a 2 spool valve with joystick and add extra stuff later on. I'm just the type of person who likes to explore all of his options before opening his wallet.

Mission creep is the perfect expression.

I can't wait for the loader to arrive. I could have used it about 10 times already in the month I've had the tractor.

OK, I spoke with Brand and also had some thoughts/ideas.

The Series 34 stackable valve is right out of the question because I don't need it and it'll be too expensive.

The Brand 3-spool valve MB23TSTSTKLA3BW would cost me $558.02. It would have a standard spring centre on the first, single handle spool and could be used for 3rd function. Second and third spools would be together on a joystick and would have float only for the boom. No regen option is available for dump but I don't know how much I care. I could plumb it in later if deemed necessary.

With this valve I would always have the option to add a 4 port diverter solenoid valve on the curl/dump spool and then I could use the 3rd function with a button on the joystick. If I did that I could change out the first spool in the valve for a motor spool with detent and then I would have options down to road to have a power rake or god-knows-what run off a motor spool. I love options.

Alternatively I could probably buy the 3 spool valve, motor spool, detent kit and diverter valve all at the same time from Perfect Hydraulic for less than the brand valve by it's self.

Have I gotten too crazy here?

Way to complicated.

Buy a joystick loader valve. If you want regen get a valve with that function. Its not something you plumb in later.

If you want a third function it is a separate addon valve not a diverter. You can do it with a manusl Summit valve for $150 not counting the cost of the hoses and couplets going to the bucket. If you want electric the price goes up to about $500 for a complete kit. Thats as chesp as it gets period.

If you want to go crazy you can build a sectional for some or all of those functions using tje Brand Series 34 sectionals.. They are actuslly dirt cheap and you can configurec any number of spools and mix and match cylinder and motor spools with ot without detents.

Here is a picture of my L3901 with factory loader valve and a two spool Summit P40 for third function and one set of rear remotes. Its a $150 valve and a couple hoses to hook into the loader valve.

I can't follow your train of thought, but I think
* Series on the boom and regen on the bucket dump make loader control much smoother. Get it if possible. I added a third section, standard 4-way, on my TL720 loader. So I have a second stick for my grapple, etc. Trying to operate two sticks with one hand showed me the value of a rocker switch on the stick. Also, the absence of regen on the grapple is ok but I can envision how slow the bucket would dump without regen.
* Trying to plan for every future contingency is a fool's errand. You could put in a motor valve, then find out the implement's exhaust has to be routed direct to tank, for example.

Hmm ok, I see you point. So basically just add a second valve down the road. I suppose this makes sense too.

Hey Guys, thanks for all the help. My loader FINALLY showed up. I ended up ordering a Brand valve out of the US that will show up with a buddy this weekend.

I finally pulled the tank plug out of the side of the transmission and I THINK you guys are correct about the thread. I bought a fitting that has the same threadform as the plug but the guy didn't know what it was (Mexico *eye roll*). I'm using an old crappy pair of vernier calipers with the vernier scale rubbed almost clean off and my thread pitch gauges are in another state but my rough eyeball measurements tell me that it's ever so slightly bigger than 13/16" and somewhere between 13.5 and 15 threads per inch so I think that's close enough to say 13/16-14, which should be the thread size for "1/2-14" or "-8" BSPP. I couldn't find any other thread forms that matched these dimensions.

It's looks like the hydraulic fittings where I need to hook up are JIC-10 and JIC-8 so now I just need some #8SAE adapters for the valve.
