Finally found info these plows. Ford Dearborn Universal and ARPS use to sell them. Apparently mosty for old Ford Tractors

This one uses a cable attached to rear 3pt and run thru pulley system to front plow.

Those designs were fine for the tractor without hydraulics, or at least for tractors without easily tap-able hydraulics.

Also those tractors were all 2wd so not much to worry about when it came to bulk in the front end.

You are much better off fitting a newer style hydralic blade to the front.

You will also note that the steel was heavy and clunky, you can do the same operation if not better with way lighter material.

Another note would be that that style of blade has no trip edge or trip blade, so any solid material that you hit goes right back to the tractor and driver, newer blade designs trip when you hit solid objects and reduce the chances of damage greatly.
Most of the good trip blades also have the option to lock the blade for summer dozer operations.

Been thinking further.. I know that's bad thing to do...... butttt

seems as tractors get older and the parts to add hydraulic components harder to find...... something like this or winch version may be better way to go when you only need to push snow twice a year or spread some dirt about same. Now if your needing to add a FEL etc. then that is a different story.

Recall that the early bulldozers used their rear winch cables in a frame over the top of the dozer to lift and lower the blade, the idea isn't all that far of a leap for that era.

The idea of a front dozer blade for my LA524 is what is probably most driving me toward making my own SSQA attachment for that FEL. I could just fab up a bracket for the existing pins on the FEL but if I'm going that far, might as well make it an SSQA bracket.
